Review: Before you buy this, please note that this volume is a long out of print edition of the A Distant Soil series. This is really for collector's only! Shortly after the publication of this volume in 1989, the publisher went out of the trade publishing business. ALL of the material in this book is available in a greatly expanded edition called A Distant Soil, Vol I: The Gathering from Image. A Distant Soil Vol I: The Gathering is 240 pages, twice the length of A Distant Soil: Knights of the Angel. The series continues in A Distant Soil, Vol II: The Ascendant and A Distant Soil, Vol III: The Aria. If you buy this book, be aware that the story is not continued in this particular format. If you are already an A Distant Soil reader and want to get this book for your collection, by all means do so. However, if you are new to the series, buy the current editions published by Image which are immediately available from amazon!

Summary: Fulfilling Fantasy For The Mind & Eyes
Review: I am just absolutely captivated by the A Distant Soil series. I own the original 1987 book and 1989's Knights of the Angel. Not only does Colleen feed your mind with the story, but your eyes with the illustrations!! For those who don't already own it, I highly suggest trying to find it. I already have Amazon.com searching for 1997's The Gathering.
