Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Psychological horror unmatched in comics today. Review: I hope everyone who reads this seriously considers buying House of Secrets: Foundation, because Rain is easily one of the strongest and most outrageous young women in mainstream comics. A teenage runaway hitchhiking across America, Rain is not a "nice girl" who does what she's told. She makes her own decisions regarding who she befriends and who she sleeps with. Within a week of entering Seattle, she already "adopts" another, even younger and more vulnerable runaway girl, Traci, and snags the affections of a singer in a pretty-much-worthless local band. Make no mistake: Rain is no charming, sweet individual. She has an abrasive attitude and doesn't hesitate in broadcasting her equally abrasive opinions. This makes her emergence as an unlikely hero so interesting, as the abandoned house she and Traci squat in proves to be haunted by a group of supernatural entities known as the Juris. Arranged in an other-dimensional courtroom hidden in the house's pantry, the entities summon the citizens of Seattle against their will into the house to be put on trial for the secrets they have held in their lives. "Innocent" is a verdict rendered rarely in this court, and the penalties are severe. Only Rain can stop them. With characters that are deep and unique, dialogue that is unmatched, a plot that is swift and unpredictable, and some of the scariest artwork you will ever see anywhere, House of Secrets: Foundation presents psychological horror on levels never approached in comics before. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
