Rating: 4 stars
Summary: an excellent graphic novel that should be read by children..
Review: "THE BOOK OF JACK" HC by Denis-Pierre Filippi & O.G. Boiscommun. A most simplest term of storytelling...fundamental-- yet assuaging, blithe & serene. It poses a scenario of trial & tribulation betwixt 2 pubuscent, venturous chums & their mountainous risings against overwhelming odds. Truly, a model adult form of a graphic novel that is most suitable for all ages-- chidren inclusive. A kudize a reader to press!

Jack is about to bear an unnerving & racking juvenile, gang-related initiation for his admission upon passing, as it is headed by their straw boss, Stan. The story opens by casting onto an aged, creeky, abandoned mansion, & adjoining within the place is a crammed graveyard. Upon completion as required by the test, Jack able to obtain an unwitting magical book. The magian mechanism of the book springs by tangibly write by itself the life of the possessor-- which is Jack, of things just happened & startlingly, of what about to happen, by way of premeditation by scrawling down on the book the harbinger of shapes you desire.

A small, pheripheral view on this matter. The heroine on one hand, her name is Sam which I sincerely fell in love with, & she complements Jack on the other hand, perfectly towards achieving a superior an adult form guised a graphic novel the same for children in this instance. She is glowing with radiance in her personality, willed yet sensitive, esteemed yet kind & Sam is one of the most "balanced" characters I have come to pass. Inarguably, a great book for female youngsters to get their hands on.

"The Book of Jack" is being published by Humanoids Publishing, & this conglomerate is a product of their master businesses which correctly located in Geneva, Switzerland & also correctly, they entrenched a local brand (a branch) here in California, U.S.A. They have a website, & it is www.humanoids-publishing.com if one like to peer through their shelves of titles.

Withal, only not too recently, DC Comics & Humanoids Publishing form a strategic partnership, with DC's capitalizing their strongholds-- these are distribution presence & ability to offer their products at lower pricing (economies of scale). Thus a branching out was caused by this, they are now able to present a sea of oeuvres all in softcovers, such as Townscapes, White Lama, Bouncer, etc. to their regular readers.

I have gone through some of Humanoid's offers such as "Ante Genesen" vol. 1 HC & I deem, it is a total failure & lackluster. While "From Cloud 99" vol. 1 HC, unlike completely this book, it is uninteresting & not worth buying.

The artwork by O.G. Boiscommun came off cartoonish , predominantly uses orange & yellow colors & in shimmering finish. This comicbook has an actual 46 interior pages, in hardcover, & in album size(9"width X 12"lenght).

These DVDs I thought are one of the same kind to this one. Disney's Beauty & the Beast, Swan Princess 1, Challenge of the Super Friends, the Pebble & the Penguin, Thumbelina, a Goofy movie, Winnie the Pooh's dvds, Jesus the Miracle Maker, Stand by me, Now & Then, Dead Poets Society, King of Kings, Rodan, Time Machine(1960),& the Mummy(1959).

These others graphic novels I thought is in parallel to this one. "the Picture Bible" HC by Iva Hoth; "Maus" vol. 1 & 2 TPs by Art Spiegelmann; "To the Heart of the Storm" TP by Will Eisner; "King David" TP by Kyle Baker; "Metropolis" TP by Osamu Tezuka; "Essential Spider-man" vol. 1-3 TPs & "Essential Silver Surfer" TP both by Stan Lee.

All in all, a quasi children book of a graphic novel that is an excellent buy...

MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!
