The Universe of Cromwell

Summary: A quality art book.
Review: This guy Cromwell is tough - that's the message, and it very well may be true, but that curl on his forehead? (Ugh.) Immediately one should flip to his prologue - abrasive, funny, and...possibly inspiring in unwholesome ways? Nevermind - what's this guy's art like? It unequivocally beats the pants off of his comic book panel layout - he's looser and more effective when he's not reigned in by some writer's vision (the Anita Bomba series, prime example, compliments of Heavy Metal). These figurative pieces, conceptual and finished - guache, ink, pencil - are expressive in extraordinary ways. If some movie producer were looking for a variation on the Road Warrior theme, this'd serve up a storm.
