Summary: Omaha the cat Dancer - great comics.
Review: I never been thinking that any comix can excite me so much as Omaha. Characters personalities, dialogs... It is funny and it's thoughtfull and it's interesting to re-read again and again. Only bad thing is that Vol.6 was the last one in a series.

Summary: To Ray Dillinger...
Review: I wholeheartedly agree that OMAHA, THE CAT DANCER was a great story and captivating read, but it disturbs me that you would want to show this book to kids. Yeesh!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent stuff - characters are real and vital
Review: It's hard to give these two enough praise for the Omaha series -- it's a set of books that makes you stand up and take notice, because despite the cartooniness and the funny-animal format, and even the up-front graphic sex, these are characters that have real lives and real problems and who have to work through their stuff in order to work with each other.

So you're not looking at the cardboard cutouts seen in so many books, nor at the sex-crazed stereotypes of so many others -- rather these present an honest look at sex and morality and depression and confusion and love.

One day, when the schools are presenting their watered-down sperm-and-egg routine, I hope to be able to hand these books to whatever kids I have and offer to talk with them about all of the issues and stuff it brings up. I can't think of a better education. It's just too bad schools don't have the guts for it.

By the way, since you can't tell from the listing here, this is the collected Omaha VOLUME SIX. Or maybe they'll correct it once I tell them and this paragraph will become obsolete.
