Rating: Summary: Good work Review: An exellent atmosphere and a very good adaptation of the batman to a diferent time. It has a similar quality than Batman Gas light. It could be a good reading for everyone who loves something a little diferent.
Rating: Summary: An Era Gone ElseWorld Review: As part of DC Comics Elseworlds line of books, Batman: Master of the Future, takes our hero and sets the story in the Victorian age, prior to the dawn of the 20th century. Batman is confronted by a prophet, who is determined, to keep Gotham from entering the new century. Author Brian Augustyn has written a good yarn. To see Batman talking in old english is quite a sight. The story synopsis may not sound like it would be a very action packed story, surprisingly, this brisk tale has a lot going on. The fact that it isn't tied to what goes on the regular mythology of the character is a plus. You can enjoy it for what it is and even though it's billed as a sequel of sorts-it can stand on it's own (I have never even read the "first part" Gotham by Gaslight). The art from Eduardo Barreto and Steve Oliff does justice to the time and setting of the story. The pencils are done in a style that harkens back to the 30's and 40's and pulp comics. Overall, there is some really great art, (like the last page), that made me go "WOW". This 63 page trip to Elsewords is worth taking
