Summary: A Novel Idea
Review: There are a lot of Superman stories out there. And goodness knows that I have read my fair share of them over the years. Some of them have been really outstandng, while others, are not worth the paper they are printed on. Few of them, however, are as unique as "Under a Yellow Sun: A Novel by Clark Kent". Written as though, the man of steel's alter ego has published a novel, the book examines the paralells between the story in his "book", and Superman's continung conflicts with arch enemy Lex Luthor. While this may not ssem like an altogether original idea, it works because of its deft execution. The words of John Francis Moore take a look at the duality between a hero and his enemy. The story is thankfully kept brief, a mere 62 pages. Rather than give readers a long drawn out epic, the short length works to the book's advantage, its more like a look into the mind of Clark Kent as a person, who happens to have super powers.

The art chores for the story are placed in the capable hands of Eduardo Barreto, who handles the "novel" sequences, and Kerry Gammill, who is there to draw the rest, the Superman/Lex portion. Both men give their individual work a style and flair that compliments the other. Good stuff all the way around.

If you are lucky enough to find a copy of this book, and if you are a Superman fan, Under The Yellow Sun, is worth your time for sure.
