Summary: The world begins to discover the parasytes....
Review: In this 5th installment, the world has discovered the existence of the parasyte monsters and has devised a test to determine who is "one of them". People go around pulling out each other's hair, with amusing results. Lots of gore and killer b&w art characterize this manga series, and this book doesn't disappoint. If you are in the mood for an interesting and imaginative read, this one's for you!

Summary: Lots of plot building in this book, but not much action.
Review: Parasyte is one of my favorite mangas. Heck, it is my favorite comic, right next to Blade of the Immortal, Spiderman, and Cerebus. It is a thinking-man's story, and I think that's the reason I like it so much. A lot of the story is built around the characters and how they deal with an alien invasion that is killing out the human race!

This fifth volume has the least action of any Parasyte graphic novel that I have read yet. Most of the story is built around showing how the bad Parasytes are trying to fit in with society. They establish themselves as a (secret) political power, so that they can hide all the deaths in the city better and keep public panic down. Shin and Lefty spend most of the book just walking around, amazed at how organized the bad Parasytes have gotten. Towards the end of the book, there is a MAJOR confrontation between a Parasyte and someone close to Shin. Shin starts to doubt his own humanity.

Summary: One of the best manga series available in America
Review: This fifth volume picks up the Shimada storyline where the fouth book left off so it is advisable to read that one first.

Also, the story begins to encompass more of the world around the characters instead of just focusing on the main cast as it seems that there are a lot more people aware of the Parasyte's existence than previously thought.

This book is quite good although you really should read the series in order.

Summary: ATTENTION PLEASE!!! GREAT MANGA HERE
Review: This is definately one really cool series. Generally targeted toward guys but any girls that love action and an interesting read will love parasyte as well. The art is very impressive and highly detailed (though kinda stiff looking at times) and the story is very thought provoking.

Basically it's about these parasyte things that mysteriously land on earth and start to take over human bodies. They can transform the shape of their heads and turn into many blades that slice and dice their victims. They also happen to eat whatever species they take over, so that means they eat people. Shin is the main character, kinda wimpy, gots a girl he likes, and has a parasyte living in his hand. He had managed to stop it from taking over his brain but now he's also got one wacked up shapchanging, thinking, talking, yet eerily emotionless hand.

The dilema that seems to face Shin the most is protecting the ones he loves and the doubting of his own humanity. Sometimes he feels like he doesn't feel all the emotions a normal person does and he's afraid he may be becoming more alien than man.

The book I'm looking at here is volume 5. VERY GORY AND CREEPY. The mysterious parasyte student goes on a murderous rampage and kills....um...everyone. A school is a lovely place to find an abundance of victims, don't u think? Then another parasyte does a "practice run" to see how many people he can kill at a gangster looking hangout. Even more blood and gore, head bashings and slicings.
