Summary: Why can't the Avengers have their own trilogy?
Review: After all, the X-Men have several. This is a review of book#1 (the data base tends to mix them all together.) Greg Cox reminds me of Roy Thomas writing Marvel comics in the 60's and 70's. He can take the Marvel characters and advance them a step further while maintaining their original essence and actually improve on them. I never really liked the Hulk and Iron Man that much until I read this book. I also liked his approach to the relationship between the post-divorce Vision and Scarlet Witch. The climax battle at Niagra Falls is awesome; it is as vivid as an actual comic book while supplying details that could only be described in prose. It takes a good writer to do that.

Summary: The plot and characters are well written.
Review: As a long time fan of Marvels Avengers, X-men and the Hulk I found the story line very interesting. It kept me in anticipation of the next page and then the next book.

Summary: Oh boy, the X-Men *and* the Avengers!
Review: As a long-time Marvel Comics fan, I was very excited to finally get my hands on both the X-Men and the Avengers. The only hard part was figuring out which characters to use. Obviously, I couldn't use every member of both teams, or even a trilogy wouldn't be big enough to hold all those super-heroes, let alone have room for a villain or two! In the end, after many painful choices, I chose the following heroes.

From the X-Men: Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Rogue and the Beast. From the Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, the Scarlet Witch, the Vision, and the Hulk. (Nick Fury shows up, too.)

And that's just the first book!

Summary: Enter Iceman and Nightcrawler....
Review: As the plot thickens, I couldn't resist adding a few more of my favorite characters to the mix. Unseen in the first book of this trilogy, both Nightcrawler and Iceman join the story in Book Two.

But who is the mystery villain who has infiltrated the X-Men? Sorry, that's not revealed until Book Three!

Summary: Too Rushed to end the trilogy.
Review: Book two had too much action and not enough character developemt, here in the end of the trilogy, Greg tried to wrap everything up but the final revelation on why the Leader did what he did was unconvinceing. So was the characterization of many of the X-Men and the Avengers, they seemed a bit out of character. I have liked Greg's writing in the Marvel Novels, but this trilogy fell apart midway through and he was not able to finish the story in a good way.

Summary: Something for both long time fans and new readers
Review: Greg Cox does a great job in writing this first of three trilogy books. One thing I wanted to note was how well he handled each character (both Avengers and X-Men) - showing us their thought processes and providing new readers with enough background on the characters, how they relate to other characters, etc.

My only hope is that Greg does not feel the need to do the same recapping (ie. covering the same ground) again in books 2 and 3 (except with new characters coming in naturually). That is one thing that would ruin the series for me.

Summary: Well worth the wait.
Review: Greg Cox does his best writing for Marvel to date with this novel. He has done an excellent job of keeping us in suspence by revealing only one of the villians near the end of this episode. The seven characters he has chosen for the search party looks to be an interesting interaction for the rest of the trilogy. The trio of captives has given us fantastic reading already (nice slam Wanda). I would give this novel four & a half stars if I could. However, this Hulk's mental capabilities confused me in light of other works recently published. That being my only real problem, I shout, "Buy this book! It is EXCELLENT!" Maybe books 2&3 will clear up my doubts.

Summary: The Differences between the teams is wll explored
Review: Greg did a great job with expanding on why the X-Men and the Avengers do not actually trust one another in Book One and I hope this is expanded upon in Book Two. What's even more beliveable is how the general public views both teams. they see the X-Men as terrorists that should be taken into custody, they view the Avengers as true heroes, and the Hulk, well they stay out of his way.

Summary: The Action Novel of the Year!
Review: I absolutely loved this book and I will recomend this book series to anyone who reads X-men books. This is pure action with The Hulk and Captain America kickin some real butt. The first book is just as good even though it has a slow start but read it cause this 2nd book is the best. But MY GOD you just have to read this! Thanx for readin!
