Summary: Good
Review: With all the media attention to Star Wars in general recentlythis book is a must read to bridge TESB and ROTJ. I only wish StevePerry could write a book about X-Wing vs Tie Fighter (a PC game by Lucas Arts), since this book is for the N64 console game by the same title.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book! Make time to read this from beginning to end!
Review: The book was excellent. The tension, and rivalry between Darth Vader and Xzior was good. The authour has a great writing ability as well. The only thing lacking in this book was that XZior was killed to quickly and there was no real showdown between Darth and Xzior

Summary: This book was great.
Review: I really loved this book! I bought it and then read it 5 or 6 times. One of the reasons I liked this book was that, something was always happening. There was never a part that I felt like taking a break, or getting up for a glass of water. It was great. I really liked the setting (in between The Empire Strikes back and Return of the Jedi), and the way that Prince Xizor was carefully placed into the storyline. I think this is a must read book and every one who likes Star Wars should read it.

Summary: Incredible!!!! Reads with the flow of a movie.
Review: Perry's writing brought every scene vividly to mind. Xixor has depth, charisma, cunning, and vulnerability. Imoportant characteristics in any villain. I found myself laughing out loud during scenes with the robots and Chewie. Dash Rendar was like Han, but different enough to see the separation in characters. Great minds not only think alike, but make good friendships. Luke was not yet a jedi, and I enjoyed the way Perry used that in the book. I give Shadows a 10 based on the fact that it is my favorite Star Wars book to date

Summary: A quick explanation of STAR WARS: Shadows of the Empire
Review: Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire is a must read for Star Wars Bantam book fans. It explains the events that took place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It introduces new characters such as the reptillian Prince Xizor and the hot shot pilot/mercenary, Dash Rendar. The story is magnificently written by Steve Perry, who uses a great deal of information from the Star Wars Universe. Prince Xizor is a Fallen who is the 3rd most powerful person in the galaxy. His power is only surpassed by Lord Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. He is the leader of an underground organization called Black Sun. Dash Rendar is a contact of Lando Calrissian, who, with the help of Princess Leia Organa and Chewbacca, will try to rescue the carbonite-frozen Han Solo from the bounty hunter, Boba Fett. Boba is stopped at the plant called Gall and Dash Rendar is the one who informed Lando about him. Leia later hires Dash as Luke Skywalker's bodyguard because Darth Vader has put a large price on his head. Meanwhile an invisible battle goes on between Darth Vader and Prince Xizor. One wants Skywalker alive one wants him dead. Each are trying to get the likeness of the Emperor. My favorite part is the climactic scene when Vader destroys Xizor and his skyhook. The only thing I don't like is the sudden death of Dash Rendar at the end. I think that Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker should have both destroyed Xizor. Despite these flaws I still thought it was an exciting and interesting book

Summary: Easy to read and completly stunning....
Review: First let me say that I DON'T read the Star Wars books. For some reason they just don't have that free flowing feel that most top notch authors have. Shadows of the Empire, though, is different. An easy read for anybody. The sentences flow together and immerse the reader in. Being able to understand the story without the "big screen" is a snap! For those who want to know what happened inbetween Empire and Jedi, Shadows is a MUST read!!!

Summary: B-O-R-I-N-G!
Review: I didn't hate this book or anything, but it just didn't rise tomy expectations. There are many other Star Wars novels that were much, much better. The book just-was boring. I found that I was reading it only to finish it, and was not enjoying it. I noticed that near the end, I simply lost interest in it. It wouldn't be a mistake to read it, but don't begin with high expectations. The new character, Dash Rendar, wasn't likeable or convincing-I found myself rather releived when his ship was blown to pieces.
A much better SW novel is The Courtship of Princess Leia

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A good book, yet somewhat pointless
Review: I thought that this was a good book, but I must diasagree withpeople who thought it should have been a movie. Simply, not muchhappened in this book. I mean, you could have gone straight from "The Empire Strikes Back" to "Return of the Jedi" without missing a thing. I did enjoy the book, though-and I certainly don't regret reading it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book absolutely without a doubt RULES!
Review: If you haven't read Shadows of the Empire, you have _got_ to goto your nearest book store and buy it. SOTE is basiclly the greatestStar Wars novel that I have read so far, and it is packed so full of action and suspense that it's impossible to put down. I liked Dash Render, but I thought Prince Xizor was a real jerk. The problem with the new characters was that I could easily predict that they would definitly lose their lives since they don't appear in ROTJ. Also, there are some scenes that need to be thought on, such as Guri sticking a gun in an alien's eye and pulling the trigger, as well as Xizor's confrontation with Leih. Other than these problems, This book was completly ingenious!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best!!
Review: Wow! This is one of the best SW books I ever read. The only part that bothered me is that Leia turns into a skitsophrenic (sp?) whiner about her wanting Han back. Other than that it is great. Seeing Darth jelous is kinda interesting. The only reason that I didn't give this book a 10 was because without Han, no Star Wars book can be perfect
