Summary: Terrible Crossover story....
Review: A Weak script, and terrible artwork highlight this Batman/Spawn story that is full of weak dialoge and has all the work effort of a movie that is sold directly to video.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good Pair
Review: finally these two dark saints team up. It's fun to watch people like Spawn beat up Batman. The illustrations were great and the story was ok. I think that the big problem with this is that the story sucked.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: F. Miller writing Batman? Gotta be good, right? Hell no.
Review: Frank Miller wrote and drew The Dark Knight Returns, possibly the best Batman story ever, maybe the best comic ever. Frank Miller also wrote Batman: Year One, another masterpiece. So why does he occasionally write such generic, unoriginal garbage like this or Sin City? The plot here is like every other superhero team up story, only a bit worse. McFarlane puts out some nice pin ups, but every page is a splash page; he has no sense of pacing or expression in his work. A lot of fighting, bad dialogue, splashy art. Not worth the time it takes to look at the pictures.

Summary: Severely Weak Effort
Review: I expected more from Frank Miller, but this book is gharish, irritating, and just plain stupid. I blame the inclusion of Spawn in this crossover.

For example, 70% of the time, Batman in this book is mumbling about how Spawn has no disipline. I never thought mumbling could come through on paper, but that's what we got here. I lost count how many times Batman says "punk" in this book. If Spawn wasn't in this book, perhaps Batman might not find it necessary to mumble.

Sure, there are pretty drawings and panels (Which is why I gave this book two stars instead of one), but this story is so unintelligible, it isn't even worth your time to buy this book for those pretty drawings. I don't even know what the plot is about, other than doctors using humans for robots. I'm not sure if this problem was solved, and I read through the book twice!

If you want the best of Frank Miller, get "The Dark Knight Returns" or "Year One." At least with those stories, you won't be able to spot Spawn anywhere.

Summary: Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.
Review: I never thought it could get this bad. Two of my favorite comic book writers made my least favorite comic book. Go figure.

The story is awful, and even when Batman is saved by Spawn, even when Batman is laying on the ground losing blood rapidly, he still manages to call Spawn a twit and a punk, with no didcipline. Now that is determination. I counted, Batman says punk a total of 13 times. What is he, 8?

This comic book is terrible, I would not even reccomend buying it. If you really wanna read it, go to the store, sit down, and read. Then go flush it down a topilet or something, because this thing is crap.

Sorry Mcfarlane, Miller, you tried hard I know. I liked your other work though! :)

Summary: Spawn/Batman Crossover is the best in years!
Review: I would like to commend Mr. Mcfarlane for his artwork on this book. It is excellent and is detailed graphically. The story was done by Mr. Miller, and I have to say that he sticks with the dark mood of both Batman and Spawn. This is a definite collectors item you should have if you like Spawn or Batman.

Summary: Not their best work, but definitely cool.
Review: Let's face it kids: Miller and McFarlane are two of the most talented (or at least popular) people to ever work in the comic medium. And this is, hands down, the BEST Spawn/Batman crossover there is. Is it a bit short on plot? YES. Is the artwork a bit too flashy in places? OH, YES. But, as a crossover book, this is definitely top draw for my dollar. Nobody writes either Spawn or Batman as well as Frank Miller, and he manages to pull through in most cases here. McFarlane's artwork is, well, McFarlane's, so if you don't like it, don't pick this one up. But if you're a fan of either Miller or McFarlane, and if you have a real interest in how these two characters would interact (which is really what this is about, not the villian), then this book is definitely worth your money.

Summary: Sad...
Review: Ok, I read most of the reviews both good and bad and thought "Hey, maybe they're exagerating.", but they AREN'T! Oh, man! This is a very, very, BLAAAH Magazine.

Ok, the story-line is alright if a bit short and to the point, but Batman's character is TOTALLY out of wack, it's like someone made the Batman/Spawn comic because they were worried that Spawn readers were going to switch to the bats and ditch the Spawn, seriously, Batman's character is totally lame in this one and I don't even know that much about him other than having the movies, watching the cartoon, and once or twice reading a comic of his(I have almost all of the Spawn), but fine, let's ignore that and look at Spawn's character.

Spawn's character in this comic is underdeveloped and since it is a variance on his normal comic there isn't anyway to understand why he acts the way he does.

Ok, understand, Spawn acts differently throughout each comic depending on what has happened to him and what he's discovered about himself and everything around him, but....I don't know, I hope I've made sense, I'm just very disappointed with this cross-over because I believe that Batman and Spawn would've gotten along well and the comic itself was just horrible and I don't believe that either of the regular Batman/Spawn writers wrote this or if they did perhaps Spawn's writer fooled Batman's writer into letting him use Batman and made Batman's character look like an idiot ruining this comic in the process.

Hope this helps! I'm just really glad I check this one out at the library and didn't buy it! Thank the Lord!
