Summary: Soul Shaking
Review: I started reading the first book simply as a way to pass time. They were on sale at our local Costco and I needed some reading material. Little did I know how deeply I would become engrossed. I am not a religious person by any means, but I have begun to question why not. As a catholic, I did not perceive the books to be anti-catholic in any way. I saw them as challenging each one's committment within our religions.

Summary: This book keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Review: As in the first book in this series "Left Behind", "Tribulation Force" goes right to the deepest of your emotions. It is a cliffhanger from start to finish! At the end of reading it you can't wait to get to the next book. This is a book that I would highly recomend to my most skeptical of friends. Although, it is fiction, it is based on facts and a very realistic view of the life of those who may be left on this earth after Christ's return. I am sure reading this entire series will have an impact on people's lives. I beleive that the chilling reality of the stories will bring people to salvation. And for those who have already received it, it will make you glad that you have.

Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins are EXCELLENT !!!!

Summary: Captivating like no other books.
Review: LaHaye and Jenkins have thought up an incredible tool for Christians to use. These books will be as asset that encourages Christians to live Godly lives that reflect the love and gospel of Christ. This series will also be a wonderful tool to the tribulation saints who read them. Like Left Behind, I couldn't put this book down.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!!!!!!!!! A MUST to read!
Review: I think this book is a great continuation of the first book in the series! I will definetely be buying the whole set. It keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Summary: Edge of your seat excitment
Review: You won't be able to put this one down. Edge of your seat excitment. I kept telling myself one more chapter, just one more. But one more chapter rolled into another and another. I finished the book in two sittings!

Summary: 'Tis not as good, but good enough
Review: this book was all right. some times, it was predictable, sometimes it wasn't. it was sort of a mixture of everything, and everything came out really well as a novel. it wasn't as good as LEFT BEHIND, though. Keep up the good work, Jenkins. I enjoy your anti-Catholic stuff.

Summary: bad writing , bad plot
Review: Besides real bad writing ( the names alone: Steele, White - obviously good people, while Carpathia - surprise, surprise - is bad, of course. Isn't Carpathia the area where the vampires come from ? ) The ladies are either subdued to downright stupid ( Chloe ) or half whores ( that Hattie assistant of Carpathia ) - a slap in the face of any emancipated woman. Or should this be the ideal of a Christian female??? I did not specifically find any anti-Catholic traits, but the book could certainly reinforce any belief that there might be some brain cells missing if you believe in this terrible conglomerate of backward christianity with "the United Nations are the devil" attitude plus a shot of Militia. Noticed, there are no people of color playing any role here? An insult to any open minded tolerant and intelligent person

Summary: My Own Personal Tribulation...
Review: Quite frankly...The writing stinks. Sophmoric at best. I do find facinating the story line about the 'End of the World', but the characters are flat and the events are predictable (no pun intended).

Worse, it is very obvious in this novel that the Authors (one of them a Minister) has some very bigoted feeling toward Catholics. If Baptist Christians were attacked like these, the novel would probably be banned in the South! Only those Catholics that left the "Church" are taken? Boy won't the writers be surprised.

The Book of Revelations has always been a wonder to me, and I do enjoy 'Seeing the events unfold', but it is obvious these two writers(?) are preaching to a choir. There is no mystery in this novel. No suspense. It's flat.

Main problem: If this were written for the sole purpose of being fiction, then yes, anything could happen. Even the anti Catholic sentiment. But these books are "Inspirational Religeous Readings" written for the purpose of bringing us to the Writers (and his denomination's) own philosophy. For that reason alone, be wary.

Summary: Good Story TOTALLY Ruined by Anti-Catholic Plot Twists ..
Review: The subject is fascinating -- particularly now, as we approach the millenium; the authors' writing style is easy to read, and the characters and events, set against the Book of Revelation COULD have been blended into a captivating story which both entertains and draws readers to Christ. For me, however, this book was totally ruined by the needless and vicious attacks on the Catholic church. At page 53 (hardcover), I learned that MOST Catholics were left behind after the Rapture. (Granted, the word "most" is never used; readers are told instead that, while "some" Catholics were Raptured, "many" were left behind. I checked several English language dictionaries, and the meaning is clear ...) The authors would have us believe that Catholics are so woefully ignorant of the Scriptures that those left behind totally miss the significance of the Rapture. The Catholic hierarchy -- cardinals and bishops who serve the Lord -- is left intact at the Vatican, with the exception of the pope, Raptured only because he abandoned elements of Catholic theology deemed erroneous by the authors. A Catholic cardinal is used by the authors to fall in league with the Antichrist and head a global psuedo-religion which rejects all crucial tenets of Christianity. I fail to see how any of this advances the story of Rayford, Amanda, Buck and Chloe in their journey to new faith. The authors offered no thoughts on the relative numbers of other Christian faith traditions included in the Rapture, so why do so for Catholics? If a leader of the global community church is needed for plot purposes, why select a have to wonder whether the next page will bring a new attack on your faith and your church. This writing reflects religious bigotry of which the authors should be rightfully ashamed!

Summary: Just another end-times book for Christians, or not?
Review: The best of this series from Lahaye & Jenkins. Whoever you believe in, Christ, Mohammad, or UFOs, this is a well thought out, researched, and imaginative book. Not every Christian will agree with every premise in this book, but that's not unusual. The characters, plot development, and mystery unfolds as you turn the pages faster and faster. By comparison, Brad Steiger's new book 'Alien Rapture' is the alter-alternative to the Christian Rapture with a great sinister government woven in. The following books in this series are not near as good. Being a student of theology, I have read both 'LB' and 'AR' books numerious times. I loan them out as a pair. Yes, indeed, buy it. Unusual and excellent reading.
