Summary: Fantastic Read by a Huge Fan
Review: I don't know what that other reviewer is talking about. They must have read some other book. I work in an office and I don't feel right unless I get my Cathy fix for the day. For me it's all things Cathy, (except the not-so-great Cathy brand lubricant). Anyways, this is a great book for any middle aged women or man (or a child sitting on a grown-ups lap) who loves Guisewite's little remarks at life's little foibles.

Cathy isn't a very atteractive woman but she never lets it get her down even when it forces her to resort to prostitution, basically just life as we all know it. There are things that Cathy does in this book that I can't relate to but maybe it's because I've never squatted in an abandoned church or mainlined heroin into my eyeball.

Basically this is a great book, pick it up today.

Summary: Where's The Compassion?
Review: I thought that I was going crazy when I read this book. The relationship that Cathy has with her pet is a little strange! The scene where the two of them go to the pet store and purchase a little cart to pull for him seemed rather odd. Evidently the more weight a dog pulls the longer he becomes, like those women with the long necks! Here in Austria we don't do such things! It also seems rather strange to me that Cathy would get her dog drunk on cheap beer! Or, I don't understand the point in feeding the dog only baked beans for a week, only to have the dog give off foul smelling odors during a Halloween party at Cathy's house. All the while Cathy kept laughing histerically saying, "Those damn ghosts!"--evidently her guests were supposed to think the odors were from "Ghouls and Goblins" as she explains to her grandmother. Also, what is so funny about going to a parade and grabbing more candy than the kids? I mean pushing little children away for "The glory of chocolate!" is funny??? Is it just me or did Cathy become a little crazy in this book?

Summary: Funny
Review: This was a good book about a lady in her mid 30's dealing with the crisis of every day life. What makes this so funny is the reality in everything she does and the way we personally feel. The dog adds an even bigger touch to people who feel dogs are a good companion better than men sometimes
