Summary: Great Book
Review: Gundam: Official Guide is an agile and not very exaustive book about the Gundam universe. But it covers all the series (apart the newest Gundam Seed) with short description, analisys and illustartions. Best of all: it's in English, so you'll can understand what's written inside :)
A must-have for all Gundam fans!

Summary: A concise guide to the entire Gundam Multiverse
Review: The Gundam Official Guide is one of the most thorough and informative books to cover the Gundam universe. The book covers every single TV series, OVA, and theatrical film to be based upon Gundam, regardless if it has been official released in the USA. For each series you'll find a glossary of terms, statistics of all the characters and Mobile Suits presented, as well as how the Universal Century timeline coincides with that series.

The book also briefly introduces you to some of the more noteworthy Gundam side stories -- a collection of semi-official spinoffs, which include videogames, comics and graphic novels. There's also a decent amount of science and history explained from the universe: Including the space colonies, politics, Mobile Suits, and Newtypes.

There's also a lot of Gundam merchandise covered. You'll find a complete list of USA released plastic model kits and action figures, as well as what's available in the Japanese market, for those who wish to import. Every single videogame based on the series is covered, including domestic and import, along with a rundown of the more notable titles. You'll also find a domestic list of comics and graphic novels.

In the end, there is an impressive amount of information given in this 130 page book, presented in full-color with a good amount of screenshots and illustrations. This is perfect for anyone just getting into the Gundam series, and is essential for any hardcore fans. Plus, the price rather attractive.

Summary: A Good Guide for the Unknown Gundams
Review: This guide was good, but some of the reviews I read here didn't give me a good picture of the actual product I would receive. Not ALL the characters of a series were showed, but enough background story and character information was written to develop a basic grasp of the many Gundam series and movies that have not yet been released in the US. It got me interested in the Gundam X, and Turn-A-Gundam, which I really never knew anything about b4 except for their names. (Sadly, this book was written b4 any info on Gundam Seed came out, so it has nothing on that series.)
I recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn more about the Gundam series, especially the one not yet released in US. I DON'T recommend this book as a sourcebook for the Gundam universe, all the info is correct, as far as I know, but the guide never gives enough of it.
