Summary: A reasonable book - but there are better ones out there
Review: I had a choice between this and FF Visionaries: Byrne. I picked this because Pacheco's artwork and Loeb's writing are always good. So what's the problem?
Dialogue.
Until Loeb takes over scripting towards the end of the book you could mistake this for an olf fashioned Image book - great art, horrible dialogue. It's certainly not terrible - but it's not great either.
The great thing about this book though, is the sense that it actually takes place in the Marvel Universe, the Grey Gargoyle, the Avengers appear, as does old-time FF villain Diablo.
However, at the end of the day, if you have to pick up a Marvel trade paperback, go with Inhumans, the Sentry, X-Force, Ultimate Spidey, or any of the Essential collections.

Summary: Fantastic Four
Review: The best Fantastic Four team is here! Jeph Loeb and Carlos Pacheo's work for this book are excellent. I've always admired Pacheo's artwork ever since I saw Avengers Forever and he's the best penciler for the FF. I've always liked Jeph Loeb's writing from his Batman: The Long Halloween. If you like the Fantastic Four and good stry telling and art this is the book to get!

Summary: Flesh And Stone
Review: This Fantastic Four GN has some stunning artwork, right up there with the Byrne and Perez rendtitions of the group. This book also features two classic FF villians: Diablo and Super Skrull as well as the Grey Gargoyle. Regarding the story, however, one gets the feeling that much of this has been done before. The FF bankrupcy and four elemental characters are recycled plotlines. Yet, it seems that Pacheco and company are really enjoying their stint on the book and they still manage to keep things fresh. Their approach to the characters is interesting and consistant with previous artistic teams.
