Summary: THIS BOOK ROCKS!
Review: I bought this book because of the reviews and they are all totally right. Listen to the reviews and you can't miss.

Summary: I LOVED IT
Review: I heard the audio cassete version of this story by checking it out of the library. My mom, not even really a great fan of Star Wars, listened to it with me and we finished it the same day. I am now listening to it again. The actors do a wonderful job and as always the music and soiund effects make it sound like the battle is in your own room. This is the best! Great to see Wedge Antilles at the end. Mirith Sinn is the most idiotic character I have ever seen. How many times did Ki Kanos warn her that they were not allies? Not enough I guess. Still one of the best.

Summary: This book is adventurous
Review: I like this book because of the audio drama. This audio version is what I've been listening to for months. Yeah! it's a bit too much, but I like this book. I bought this last year at a store down in Utah. I like hearing about the Emperror's royal guard. I also like the way Canos uses his light saber to cut down anyone who would attempt to destroy him. When I hear Canos and Jax fightin with their light sabers! that reminds me of when I would fight with the toy sabers. This book is wonderful. I also like the music that was written for the Star Wars films. This book is a must have for all future Star Wars fans of the future.

Summary: Nice. Nice but not great.
Review: I personally never took any particular interest in Emperor Palpatine's Royal Guard, which made a brief appearance in the last film of the original Star Wars series. Nevertheless, I did like the idea of a comic centering on this somewhat shady branch of ye olde series' Evil Empire. I liked that idea a lot.
To be perfectly honest though, reading the implementation of this idea did leave me with somewhat mixed fealings to having spend 12.57 purchasing it.

Don't get me wrong, it was nice enough. The story is good enough to keep most Star Wars fans interested, and it certainly is somewhat more original compared some other Star Wars comics. But nevertheless, it certainly isn't novel-grade material either.
in addition to this, the pencils were downright poor, and almost suggest that the artist suffered from a serious lack of either time or skill. The drawings weren't really hearthwrenchingly awfull either, but that is also the nicest thing I have to say about them.
The colouring was a lot better, even sometimes compensating for the poor pencils.

All in all, this certainly isn't a comic even the most zealous fans of the series really OUGHT to have. Nevertheless, those SW-junkies who do decide to purchische this book will probably have a good time reading it. And of course it IS a must have for the Royal Guard fans amongst us.

Summary: Thus die all traitors.
Review: I'm a hardcore Star Wars fan. I admit it. So, it's rare to find any Star Wars media that I don't like. And, Crimson Empire is no exception.
I like the stories of non-hero Star Wars characters. This deals with Imperial Guard Kir Kanos, and his plot to exact revenge upon Carnor Jax, a traitor to the Imperial Guard. Kanos will no hesitate to kill anyone who stands in his way, and does whatever it is he needs to accomplish his goals.
If you are interested in checking out a new Star Wars plotline, I highly recommend this tale to you. Kir Kanos is an example of a Jedi without the power of the Force.

Summary: Royal Guards Rule!
Review: It is great to see a story focused around the most enigmatic and intriguing characters in the Star Wars saga. Ever since they hit the big screen with their 5 minutes of fame, I have been caught up in thier mystique. The writers did an excellent job as well, thusly deserving a 5 of 5.

Summary: Good comic
Review: My favorite characters are the royal guard so I may be a bit biased :)
Overall I thought it was a decent story, but I think they could have done better. However, the art was truly amazing!! This comic also gives you some information on what happened after Episode VI and was interesting in that aspect as well.

Summary: A bit of a mix
Review: The idea itself and all is interesting, and I liked the flashbacks to the training of the guard. However, I'm not to fond of the writing at some point, especially for Mirith Sinn. Kir Kanos is an interesting character, but at some point you have to wonder if he's on the line of hypocrisy. Indeed, his overall philosphy is remniscent of Baron Fel's in 'In the Empire's Service'. (very, very reccomended work, by the way)

The art has a nice cinematic style to it, but at the same time it seems to lack a bit of cohesiveness. Effects like the ones for planets are odd but alright, but, alas the ships and cityscapes are poorly drawn.

Read 'Crimson Empire' for the action and information on the Imperial Guard. If you want keen Imperials and a wide array of well-developed characters, look elsewhere, like the X-wing Rogue Squadron series.
