Summary: Un-original ????
Review: Some people say this plot is un-original. Well its history and might now be original but its got good designs, fun to read, lovable characters. What else would you want? Even if the plot is un-original. I have read many similar manga but I like Samurai Deeper Kyo more then any similar manga. This book is a must read ^ ^ I plan on buying the whole set.

Summary: Good but not good enough
Review: This is a great manga that i enjoy reading time to time. Its a story placed in the old samurai time of Japan with war and chaos. I personally like this series and enjoy reading the book and watching the show, but i definetly enjoyed watching it, better than reading it. Of course this is an samurai action series and has many fighting scene. So it is best to view on dvd. But for you die hard fan like me i would definetly buy this series of manga. For some of you people who do not know most anime(dvd) is different than the manga(book)so i would suggest you chose wisely or better yet get both!

Summary: A fine manga.
Review: This is a very good read. The story is quite fun. I was kept entertained through the whole volume. The character design is well done. The story contained in this first volume leaves me hungry for more. I will definitely be buying the second volume.

Summary: Best manga i've read so far!
Review: This is an awsome manga! I've read a couple of manga's so far, and I'd have to say this was my favorite! This manga kept me interested until the last page and I can't wait until the next vol. comes out! Kyoshiro is very funny, and Kyo is amazing when he fights. If you're looking to get a manga, get this one!

Summary: goodness
Review: This manga was pretty good, if you stick around to try the later volumes in the series it gets better.
It does start out a lot like Rurouni Kenshin, but it turns out they are very different. Do not be alarmed.
Samurai Deeper has interesting characters, wonderful art, hot guys and a female character (Yuya-san) who actually isn't that annoying! ^^ yay
If you like swords, blood and... some glimpses of the female body, then give it a shot. (If you are into that stuff and can handle the Maturity) Again, stick around for the later volumes too, it does get better. ~read up~

Summary: Kenshin and Kyo: a Superficial Comparison
Review: YES: Samurai Deeper Kyo is a historical Japanese manga set around the time of the samurai, and the main characters is an amazing sword fighter.

...But wait? Isn't that Rurouni Kenshin? D00d, it's a total rip off!

(Here ends the sarcasm)

Yes. Rurouni Kenshin also has historical Japan and samurai. But that's really where I draw the line between the two manga. I haven't read past the third volume of this series, but I see very little comparisons in the two other than what I've already said.

I read Samurai Deeper Kyo for the supernatural aspect and for the plot, where I see Rurouni Kenshin as being a much more philosophical story. Does this mean that Samurai Deeper Kyo is stupid? No. Is it silly? Sometimes, yes. Is it entertaining? Most definitely.

Many manga artists cannot capture fight scenes well on paper, but Samurai Deeper Kyo did a good job with the fight scenes. If you want to read this, go ahead, but don't start reading it as a Rurouni Kenshin knock-off, because it is not. It's well drawn, entertaining, appeals to girls who don't want the magic girl epic manga, and if it matters to you, it's got a load of fanservice. Try it, you may find that you'll really enjoy it.
