Summary: It is interesting...
Review: although the story also took idea from Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (There are a lot of story about alter ego today, famous example is Hulk). If people say it is 'hijacking' Samurai X popularity, yes indeed, but the story & plot are different each other (Same thing happens to a new anime, called Rahxephon, even though Rahxephon's genre is resembling Gundam). If you have spare time, you can go ahead, otherwise, do not waste your time with this manga. Anyway, it is just my opinion.

Summary: bad
Review: Beware of unoriginal story, so and so art, plus boring characters. Could be better...I don't see how it got such highly rated reviews. If this was to be your first manga experience, look elsewhere.

Summary: Samurai Deeper Kyo
Review: Don't you just love Japanese history? Afterall, it's filled with samurais, swords, and great potential to stick in some very interesting characters indeed. Good thing Samurai Deeper Kyo possess all of these and more.

Taking place during the Edo Era of Japan, Samurai Deeper Kyo is a story about a young man named Mibu Kyoshiro, a wandering medicine peddler whom tires easily, whines every now and then, is very clumsy, and, of course, is quite peaceful despite it all. That is, until you make him mad. You wouldn't like him when he's mad. His eyes turn blood red, and the innocent Kyoshiro transforms into the not-so-innocent Demon Eyes Kyo, the "legendary killer of a thousand men". No longer is he reluctant to participate in any acts of violence; on the contrary, Kyo, the dark spirit residing within Kyoshiro, actually enjoys slaying.

This is but the background to a great developing plot, because soon Kyoshiro meets up with a bounty huntress named Yuya Shiina, who ends up following him on his journey to somehow collect the one million ryo bounty on Kyo's head.

The artwork is enjoyable throughout the manga, effectively expressing the quickness of the action scenes, which I especially liked. Each page is detailed, especially when it comes to the character designs. The art is obviously more shonen then anything else, but the story itself should appeal to a wide variety of audiences.

If you like comedy, action, evil-spirit-alter-egos, and wonderful beginning hints of character and plot development, (not to mention samurais! Yay!) you definitely need to pick up a copy of Samurai Deeper Kyo. It's well worth it.

Summary: Ugh--could this rip off any more from Rurouni Kenshin?
Review: First off, I have read Samurai Deeper Kyo and Rurouni Kenshin. So for those of you that want to flame me, I do know what I am talking about.

I was not very impressed with this book. The characters are sterotypes, the plot has been done before (Kenshin) and the dialogue was, while good, not enough to separate it from the pack.

Overall, I prefer Rurouni Kenshin to this.

Summary: Samurai Deeper Kyo- action, comedy, and a bit of romance
Review: I am one of those type of people that are very picky about the type of manga that they read. I love action, but I need some comedy and romance is nice when it adds to the plot.....and Samurai Deeper Kyo satisfies all of these. I am also fond of historical Japan manga and it was intersting to read one during this time in Japan, since, at least as far as I have read, very few are set during that time period.

The charater design is crisp and clear and the fight scenes are also well drawn and clear (with other mangas I would sometimes would have to analyze the picture during a fight scene just to get a grip on what is going on) The plot has many twists and turns to keep you very entertained.

Over all I think it is an excellent manga and the only fault I have with it is that they aren't published fast enough.

Summary: An awsome manga ^.^
Review: I love this book, next time I come near a manga section in a store I'll pick number 2 up. Kyoshiro is a normal medicine peddler until he gets mad.....then kyo of the demon eyes comes out! Yuya is a bounty huntress.....with additude(her character kind of reminds me of Faye Valentine). When they meet, all hell breaks loose. We see a new side of Kyoshiro, a perverted side that is......

Summary: It is interesting...
Review: Ok, I was lookin' the new One Piece Graphic Novel at my local B&N. They said it came out in June, which I knew was bull, but they were sold out. After ordering a copy at the desk, I browsed through the vast shelves of unknown and unheard-of manga, when I came across this one. It had your basic amount of nudity and cursing for a manga, not too little and not too much, so I picked it up. Its about this guy named Kyoshiro. A bounty huntress who is called Yu-Ya Shiina mistakes him for a fugitive with a BIG bounty on his head named Demon Eyes Kyo. After she realizes her mistake, she finds out that he has a small bounty on his head, so she takes him along with her against his will. So later on they battle and stuff and become friends. Alos, Yu-Ya finds out that Kyoshiro really is Demon Eyes Kyo, yet he is REALLY not. I wont reveal any more. I would have given it five stars except for the fact that there is text sometimes that has been shrunk to fit the frame, which you will REALLY need a magnifying glass to read. They shrunk some of the text and pictures WAY, and I mean WAY too much. Buy this manga, its great, but make sure to buy a microscope along with it.

Summary: Kenshin ain't got nothin on Kyo
Review: OMG I just read this Manga a couple of days ago it was my first ever Manga and what a way to bring me further into the anime world. The year is 1604 4 years after the longest and most bloodiest Civil War in Japanese history and from that batle comes an evil legend and a heavy bounty for the Samurai known as "Demon Eyes's Kyo" the man who killed 1,000 men in the last battle. One day when a simple medicine peddler by the name of Mibu Kyoshiro runs into a bounty hunter by the name of Yuya Shiina who thinks that the medicine peddler is Kyo (for her defense this guy looks really really like kyo could he actually be the legendary samurai?). As their journey continues Kyoshiro starts to a little odd and the oddness grows day by day. Jut when Yuya thinks that Kyoshiro is just some lune something awsome and scary happens Demon Eyes Kyo appears but Kyoshiro is gone now could these be in the same body. Excellent story action and violence and of course teasing with women read for enjoyment and for a real page turner.

Summary: Blows " Rurouni Kenshin" Away
Review: Samurai Deeper Kyo -
Taking place after the bloody battle of Sekigaharta,( I dont recall another storyline in Anime reffering to it). In 1604, Demon Eyes Kyo is feared as the "Slayer of a Thousand Men" taking the body of a herbalist Kyoshiro, Kyo hopes to find his old body, befriends a bounty hunter named Yu Ya Shina, who tried to capture Kyoshiro, but followed him once Kyo took ahold of his body. So far, Demon eyes Kyo is a character who is not really "Good or "Bad", and as a main character, that is "pushing the envelope". Most main characters in Samurai anime are good natured. Not Kyo, battling nearly anything that gets in his way.
Usually the strange Kenyo creatures that walk the land. Also you find some cool characters in this. Benitora, Yukimora, Saizou, and others. If you are looking for the latest/greatest hot Samurai manga/anime, Samurai Deeper Kyo is IT!
