Summary: One of the better "conversions" I've seen in some time!!!
Review: "Neon Genesis Evangelion", written by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, is not your "run of the mill" robot anime/manga... It could be ranked as one of the best all time series that I've seen, out of this genre... Yes, even topping Robotech! There is much more emotion in "Evangelion" in just the first Graphic Novel than I ever remember seeing in the aforementioned series. Not to knock Robotech, but move over SDF... here come the Evas!!! Even if you are not really into Japanese animation, this is definitely something that I would recommend to anyone!

Summary: Neon Genisis
Review: Are you bored of looking at tiring anime? well I was until I luckily stumbled upon this book. Neon Genesis Evangelion is definatly a mixture of origonality and pure genius. All you thrill seakers in the anime world this is your exit have a pit stop in the world where angel's the distroyers of our world are over come by the infamous evangelions extreamly advanced technological robots made to syncronize with teen agers to save the human race. If any more is told then you would be mad at me after reading the first book but don't think I told you all of the first book I just told you .001% of it.

Summary: Reasonably impressed
Review: As a fan of the series, I thought I'd go ahead and check out the book. Artistically it is well done, though I'd say some of the scenes are very confusing visually. There is just so much detail there's just too much noise in some of the scenes. That, and it seemed to read "too quick". I don't know, it just seemed like I breezed through it very quickly. Once again, well done with just a few small complaints. Thumbs up!

Summary: A TRU ANIME FAN'S REVIEW
Review: GET IT!!! Even if it is a little expensive but it is worth it. This book focus on the main character's internal battles with his emotions and is very deep unlike most other Japanses Animations which mainly focus on fighting bad guys or aliens or whatever. I think Neon Genesis Evangelion is very good and worth the money.

Summary: Psychologically disturbed characters try to save the world
Review: Having never seen the anime, my perspective on the book is probably different from the average reader. Upon first reading, I found Volume 1 to have a relatively simple plot hiding behind the complex scenes and characterizations. Perhaps this is the beauty of Evangelion: it seems so difficult to understand, but at the most basic level it's just another case of humanity trying to preserve itself. And yet this series presents the classic dilemma with such a unique twist.

Shinji obviously has some major issues, and with a father like Gendo Ikari, it's understandable. The tension between father and son is so strong; in fact the interactions/conflicts between all the human characters provide a quiet turbulence throughout the story.

One complaint, however: Evangelion is Sadamoto's first full-length manga, and it shows. Although most of the artwork is certainly up to par, the fight scenes between the evangelion and the angel in Vol. 1 were difficult to follow. Perhaps for someone who had seen the anime, this would be not so much of a problem, but since I'm not too familiar with the Who's-Who of Big Honkin' Robots, I couldn't always figure out who was hitting who. Otherwise, Neon Genesis Evangelion is an excellent story and highly recommended for those who like something that's stretch their minds.

Summary: Interesting.
Review: I own the DVD series and when I saw this volume of manga I had to pick it up. It is interesting and the artwork is excellent. But I found that it didn't really offer alot new. A few scraps here and there, much of which was hinted at during the series.
If you don't want the DVD series but want to know all about it then this is a good buy, if you are a evangelion nut then buy it. But if you own the series and are just happy with it then I would not buy this as well.
