Summary: Boo Ya
Review: "The Hobbit" is the best book that I have ever read in my life and I think that everybody should read it(especially Mr. Jeff Barber). Everything about this book is awesome. It sets the standards for all fantasy books, and I wish that J.R.R. Tolkien was still alive and writing books now, then this would be a great age of writing and book sales would go up, alot.

Summary: The Hobbit
Review: This is the best J.R.R Tolkien ever written. Forget Lord of the rings, this is much better. It contains excitement and something so unusual for Tolkien: Humour.

So read this good book. And if you wants to read the Lord of the rings you most read this first.

Summary: THE HOBBIT
Review: Tolkien's "The Hobbit" helped break the mold and open up unknown doors. He presented many with text and style of writing that was very uncommon. Yet, it was accepted widely because of it's way it allows the reader to close their eyes and explore an adventurous fantasy. My favorite character described were the Hobbits. They were very clearly painted in her book as "stout and stocky." Tolkien's experimented with an "unknown" type of literature and suceeded! This is an excellent book!

Summary: the most boring fantasy book i have ever read!
Review: i read this book in my seventh grade english class, and personally, i wouldn't recomend it to ANYONE! maybe it is jsut me who doesn't like fantasy novels, but i mean, seriously....the hobbit? gandalf? they were such boring characters, it was as if a ten year old coul've made up these characters. i have written many essays on the hobbit about bilbo baggins, and that he is a heroic character, but to be honest, i would NEVER do it again. it was a waste of my time to read such a bad book! but if u do want to read it, then all i can say is, you will have to see for yourself what u will think of it! enjoy?

Summary: The Hobbit
Review: I never was interested in fantasy until I read, "The Hobbit". I think that it is book that should be read by middle graders. It gives them the opportunity to step out of reality and broaden their imagination. Although, it is a lengthy book, it should be recommened to those book lovers.

Summary: The Hobbit
Review: I have never been a fantasy lover until I read, "The Hobbit". As I read the book, I actually forgot where I was because it was so interesting. I loved the sarcastic vocablulary that J.R.R. Tolkein used throughout the book. This is an excellent book for middle grade students to read. It gives them the chance to step out of reality and broadens their imagination.

Summary: The Hobbit
Review: Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit, is a member of those small fury footed people that are half of our height an smaller than dwarves. He is well off, well feed, and happiest when he is sitting by a fire with his pipe, a good drink and a great and satisfying meal. He is defintely the last person you would send off on a dangerous journey. When Gandalf the wizard stops by in search of someone to share an adventure with, Bilbo doesn't know what he is getting into. Soon thirteen dwarves arrive on the hobbits doorstep in search of a burglar and before he is prepared he is wisked out the door and off on and adventure. The dwarves' main goal is to return their home in the Lonely Mountains and reclaim their stolen fortune from the dragon Smaug who long ago demolished the dwarves home there. Along the way they meet giant spiders, evils, horrifying wolves, and a subterranean creature named Gollum from which Bilbo wins a magical ring. By the time Bilbo returns to his home he is a completely different person and ready for bigger more dangerous adventures This is a great book full of adventure. It will appeal to the minds and hearts of adults and children enticing them with its wild happenings and colorful descriptions. I really enjoyed it and strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a great fairy tale adventure.

Summary: Good novel, bad summary
Review: This is my favorite book. Tolkien is my favorite author. My one complaint about this edition is that the summary on the back of the book is very misleading about the climax. Bilbo does *not* "alone and unaided - confront the great dragon Smaug."

Summary: A MAGNIFICENT novel!
