Summary: Welcome to the fascinating world of Tolkien!
Review: This magnificent book is a must for all fantasy-readers. It is the first truly succsesfull fantasy book, and it introduces you to the most famous fantasy world, Middle Earth with all its mystery and magic.

In this book you follow the hobbit Bilbo Baggins who is accompanied by 13 dwarfes. They are going to capture their ancestors gold from the fierce dragon Smaug. On their way, they meet a lot strange creatures and dangers. It is all brilliantly told by J.R.R. Tolkien.

I recommend this for everyone who likes to read FANTASY.

Summary: Truly a Classic
Review: A truly wonderful book, and THE cornerstone for fantasy. A must read for true fantasy fans so they will understand Tolkienian references with other writers.

Kids will love because it is an easy read. Parents will love it for it is truly a good clean story. Adults will enjoy it for the historical value and amusing style.

The only thing I would criticize is the simplicity of the story. Too many details are left out for my taste (of course that is part of the magic, it requires you to use YOUR imagination to flesh out the story!), but I think that is mostly due to the looooooooong storylines I have read in the last 3 years.

Enjoy!

Summary: JRR Tolkiens World
Review: The Hobbit is a reallly good book. I liked it because, Dumgeons and Dragons like material interests me, and if it does you, i think you'll like it just as well. It starts out in a Hilly landscape in a place called Bag End. Where Hobbits like Bilbo Baggins Live. He led a normal life until a unexpeced visit occurs from a Wizard named Gandalf and 12 dwarves all in need of a good thief like Bilbo to help them on a quest to ... Smawg and get his gold. So their quest starts and they meet and fight many people, spiders, elves, and goblins along the way. The ending is really spectacular but you need to read it to find out. Dont forget to readd all the other J.R.R. Tolkien's classic books.

Summary: An excellent book
Review: The Hobbit was a wonderful read! The plot was facinating, though somewhat conincedental, like when Bilbo slips out of the cave and just happens to find the dwarves and Gandalf. However, there are many interesting word choices. For instance, hobbit originated from the word holbytla, an Old English construct, means hole-builder. So the first sentence can be trnslated to "In a hole in the ground there lived a hole-builder." It's a bit of a joke.

Most of the names in this book go around in circles like that. To find out more about that, I recommend the Hobbit Companion, by David Day. Anyway, this is a wonderful story with great description, and I recommend it.

Summary: The Hobbit was a wonderful adventure!
Review: From the first few pages, The Hobbit had me hooked. I couldn't put the book down, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to admit, I ran out and bought the Lord of the Rings before I was even finished! Wonderful story and unforgetable characters. The ending was especially good, one that I did not see coming until it was upon me. Anyone reading this review at all should read the book most certainly.

Summary: The Best of the best!
Review: The Hobbit is one of the best, unable to put down, books you will ever read! Especially for those who have a leaning toward mythology and fantasy. The characters and adventures that Bilbo meets and gets involved with are truly portrayed by Tolkein in such a way as to become increasingly realistic and personal to you. And Gandalf, the wizard, always arrives just when Bilbo needs him. Golum, am unforgettable character, who 'hisses' the title of "my precious', is the keeper of one of the three rings that turns out to be the key factor in 'The Lord of the Rings' (a must read)! This ring, when worn on the finger, makes you invisible and was very helpful to Bilbo when meeting up with the dragon as well as in other crisis times of his adventure. The Trilogy is an awesome and stimulating fantasy that pulls you into its magical world and makes you feel as if you are there!A classic, unforgetable reading experience!

Summary: Epic Tale
Review: I have read the Hobbit, and I must say that I have truly enjoyed it very much. It was like reading, or rather listening to a tale from the past, like a myth, or more like a legend. It was beautifully written, and it had all the mastery that is required in an enjoyable book. I recommend everyone to read this book, young and old alike.

Summary: The fantastic book
Review: The fantastic and terrific book by J.R.R. Tolkien, which is called THE HOBBIT, which tells a story of a brave Hobbit going to the rescue of a treasure being protected by a dragon. It is an adventure book which every one should read because of the authors way of writing it and also because of its setting, which is very creative. The book tells about a Hobbit, which is a small creature about one meter, more or less and lives in underground holes and are very smart and silent. One day a magician called Gandalf comes to his house and invites him to a journey to rescue a treasure which was stolen from their ancestors by a evil dragon called Smaug. He accepts and gets into a lot of adventure, danger and meets very different creatures, sometimes bad and sometimes good, until the the cave where the dragon sleeps... The first reason I liked the book is because of the authors way of writing. He describes exactly whats happening and makes us able to picture every plant, every character. I also like the setting, which is super well described, and is very creative too, with lots of characters, mountains, and different scenarios which are very well pictured while reading the book. So thats why I think every one should read it and enjoy it, no mater if its a child or an adult, you'll never let the book down until you finish it or let it mold on the top of your desk!
