Summary: SUPERB!
Review: I think The Hobbit is one of the best books ever written (which of course stands with The Lord Of The Rings)! In which Tolkien tells of a Hobbit of the rich kind. Marvelous adventures and chapters so cleverly named! An anchantment indeed! I give it 2 thumbs (and one fuzzy toe) STRAIGHT UP!!!!!!

Summary: ah, it was ok, pretty good actually
Review: unlike some, i didn't give teh hobbit 5 stars becuase TOlken completey skipped the entire battle that the entire novel led up to. howerever, on a positive note, Golium was the best character in the novel by far. According to one of my chums, golium is presesnt in a lot of lord of the rings. I love the riddles!

Summary: spectacular novel for all ages.
Review: The Hobbit is a book that you can read to yourself or your kids. All ages will enjoy this creative fantasy novel by the famous author of the lord of the rings. The story focuses around a hobbit, mystical creature of Tolkiens Middle Earth, named Bilbo Bagins. Bilbo goes on an adventure with a bunch of dwarves and a wizard. Along the way he finds a special treasure that helps him on his adventure. The company goes through all kinds of complications from being captured by goblins to being lost in the woods. A definte must read for adults and kids alike.

Summary: Truly awesome!
Review: I was amazed at how one person could think of something so intricate, speaking of the whole vision of Middle-Earth. I really felt like he was telling the story in person. I was disappointed when this book (or any of the Lord of the Rings) was not considered one of the 100 best books of the 20th century. It certaintly must be one of most influential. For anyone seeking excitement, you have got to read this book! I found myself gasping in several places.

Summary: I was completely against fantasy until The Hobbit.
Review: I was completely set against fantasy of any kind until I was forced to read the Hobbit for school. I was utterly enrapt from the first page. Enthralled by the sheer genious and subtley of the novel I was compelled to salvage any vacant time by filling it with the adventures of what at first seemed and inapt hero. The sublimity and profound metaphorical meaning are woven with perilous happenings to create a tapesty comperable to such literary feats as a Tale of Two Cities and Siddhartha. I thought it impossible for a writer to render me so unable to set a book down as much as Dumas until I read Tolkien. I never would have believed this novel to be so meaningful before. This book truly astounded me and I, who was so reluctant to even try fantasy, was close to tears when I finished the book and will treat fantasy with alacrity where it was once met with scorn. If you have not read this book I adamently reccomend it to you even if this not your preffered genre.

Summary: Just buy it NOW!!!
Review: I read this book for the first time when I was 10 years old, and I can remember that it wasn't that good for me. Now I'm 18 and it's the secon time I read it. This book is just GREAT, filled with magic and fantasy, and of course, as all his other books, J.R.R. wrote it in a very especial way.

Summary: one of the GREATEST BOOKS EVER WROTE!
Review: The hobbit is one of the greatest books I have ever read, equaled only by LotR and The Hunters Moon. I am 13 years old and I first read the book in grade 5. Please don't put all teens and preteens in the same category, although most of the people who hated the book did seem to be around that age. Or maybe they just sounded like it. I know everyone is intitled to an opinion, but I just can't help feeling overwhelming dislike for these such people. They seem to be just as childish as they claim the book is. THE BLOODY POINT OF THE BOOK IS TO GET THE GOLD FROM THE DRAGON! I MEAN, HOW DUMB DO YA HAFTA BE?! But I guess there are just some people who'll get it, and some who won't. For those that can't, why don't you go and find a nice Atlas or something that won't stretch your beleagured brain too much. Something simple where they just tell you stuff and you don't have to worry about distinguishing between those oh so hard rhyming names. I mean, PUH-LEEZE.

Thanks so much, loved the book.

Summary: The Greatest Fantasy Novel of All Time!!
Review: J.R.R. Tolkien is one of the best authors to have ever lived. His fantasy novel about a little creature on an enormous adventure is the best from the genre. This book is a MUST for fans of the genre, or anybody at all who enjoys a great book! READ IT!!!
