Summary: Great Book
Review: I bought both of them together arfter skimming thru them. I loved the story. Too bad its only 2 volumes long. I highly recommend this Book.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: a disappointing ending
Review: I wasn't satisfied with the way this series wound up. First they had to postulate an alien race _and_ an unknown disease just to set up a situation that would throw the lead characters together.

Having set up a relationship, they basically ended with series without resolving it, and used the mythical disease as a metaphor for something else.

Lots of series need a "hook" to bring the main characters together; but I want a story to move on from there. This seemed stuck in the early stages until it abruptly ended.

Summary: Charming
Review: In the last volume, Kei met a fine young lady named Mizuho who was just not only his homeroom teacher, but also an alien from another galaxy. After a quick shuffle of chance, these two started a budding relationship with each other. Well in this volume, love is questioned when Kei's friends reveals feelings for each other and well, someone may also become an obstacle between Kei's and Mizuho's love for each other. Things dig even deeper as Kei fights a powerful flashback which was the cause for the 3 years Kei experienced in stagnation. Things get a lot more serious in the second and LAST volume for this charming series' so be sure to check it out.

Despite the fact that the teacher and student relationship situation is a bit cliché, when it comes to Onegai Teacher, it has this sort of charm you can't find anywhere else. The relationship between Mizuho and Kei is both serious and cute at the same time. They experience the pain and hardships like any other relationship would go through' but in the end, the happiness they bring benefits both of them. It's the type of relationship that'll last forever, and its bonds would definitely be hard to sever. In any case, for anyone who is interested in romance, Onegai Teacher is definitely the type of title to pick up. The 2nd volume of the series is focused on their relationship as they go through some hard times. Since the first volume mostly served as an introduction, this one quickly wrapped it (the relationship) up but managed to give the reader some closure at the same time.

Anyway, the characters from Onegai Teacher fit the story perfectly well. Each character plays some sort of role that is significant to the story. Although the story is mostly based on Mizuho and Kei, Kei's friends also play specific roles in the story. Each of them has different personalities but they all blend together perfectly well. Without these characters, it just wouldn't be Onegai Teacher.

As for the artwork, even though it's fairly conventional, Ms. Mizuho will definitely be a memorable character. The character designs from Onegai Teacher are fairly simple but they all look charming. The panels are very easy to follow. The toning is well done and well, yeah the artwork fits the story perfectly well.

Now as for the translation, this webmaster was pretty much satisfied with ComicsOne's job on Onegai Teacher. The 2nd volume is mostly free of errors despite the little 'loose ~ lose' error on page 96. The cover is both appealing and has some zing to it. The material used for the cover is pretty good too. The only complaint I have is the yellow paper being used for Onegai Teacher. Somewhere down the line, this paper is going to disintegrate fairly quickly. All in all, ComicsOne gets a passing grade on translating and releasing this title.

In conclusion, it's a shame that Onegai Teacher ended so quickly but then that way, it doesn't drag out the situation any longer. ... you can grab the first and second volume from this delightful series' anyway, be sure to pick it up because it's a really amusing relationship between the hot teacher and the young student.

Summary: Marvellous Story...and a bit different from the anime
Review: Konnichiwa to all readers....
When I first bought these two mangas (Onegai Teacher Books 1 and 2) I was still impressed by the anime, as you all may well know by my review of the Box Set here at Amazon...And after reading the mangas, I got even more impressed, for the manga changed some elements from the anime wich were really not working quite well...Although the manga has flaws, for it is too fast paced sometimes, and some character interactions we will know just by their own telling, and not by seeing it on the manga, it is a must read. But I need to tell that some of the changes here were VERY GOOD...I loved what happened to Morino Ichigo (one of my most favorite characters) and the development of circunstances which led Kusanagi Kei to his deep comma at the end where way more realistic than those on the anime (haa, he has guts after all!!!Go go go Kei, for you really love your girl, and would never give her up!!!)...I think the manga version should have been on the anime, it would give more credence to the whole story. A sure item for your manga collection...And the drawings are very cute endeed... Now I will wait the Fan Book, and sure Amazon will release in October the Onegai Teacher novel to be released by Comics One, wich promises to cover for every gap on the manga and anime (I will surelly buy it, for I love this story deeply...And note that I usually do not buy romance books, but this one I will have on my collection for sure)

If you like a good, moving story and beautifull drawings try this manga and you will never repent yourself... and if you saw the anime and has the same opinion as I (and most of those who watched it...) do not need to tell you to buy it, do I?
