Summary: Lots of laughs for anyone
Review: Bill Amend's Foxtrot has to be the funniest comic strip since Calvin and Hobbes retired. I can count on one hand the Foxtrot comic strips that have failed to make me laugh...every one of them is funny. If you have a funny bone, you should tickle it by buying this book...and checking into other Foxtrot books.

For the parents: Being a teen myself, I thought I'd stick a note in case there are any parents out there, getting this for kids. Amend is somewhat disappointing on occasion. Example, in one comic, Peter Fox has a dream of making out with two Sports Illustrated models, who are in (cartoon, of course) skimpy suits. The two suggest they take the suits off, but Peter is awakened in the next panel. Kind of an appeal to the carnal side, but I try to ignore it. Most of the rest of the strips are just fine.

Summary: The best strip the Washington Post doesn't publish
Review: Foxtrot is probably the best comic strip that the Post doesn't get, though unfortunately these days that's not saying an awful lot. It's not intended to be damning with faint praise; in fact, it may be the best comic strip going, period. It's certainly up there. I particularly like Jason and his sci-fi enthusiasms. Amend also does a good job showing realistic computer language when that's called for. (When Dad asks for Java, that's exactly what Jason provides.)

Summary: Don't know
Review: I can't say that it's the best foxtrot book because they are all great but it is definetly worth reading over and over and over again.

Summary: I enjoy all of Amend's collections - no exception here.
Review: I have always found Foxtrot a wonderful evening read. This collection is another great way to go to sleep with a smile on your face.

Summary: oh, please...
Review: Salvation! After almost giving up hope, I finally find a review that recognizes the sheer mediocrity of this entire venture. I won't deny taking a certain guilty pleasure in reading FT, but viewed objectively they're fairly appalling. I mean, my God, it's the exact same repetitive jokes day after day after day after day after day! Every single one of Amend's characters exactly fits into a rigid stereotype from which he or she never, ever, deviates in the slightest. "I say, I wonder what those lovable Foxtrot rascals are up to today! My word, it looks like the small, hyperactive child is equating his vacuous valley girl sister to a repulsive beast! Well, I declare! What a strikingly original development! What will that genius Amend think of next?" How come great comic strips like Calvin and Hobbes die and things like Foxtrot drag their decaying corpses onwards 'til the end of time?

Summary: TWO THUMBS UP!
Review: The newest anthology so far, Beyond a Doubt is Beyond a doubt the most hilarious of all the Foxtrot books. Foxtrot seems to get better every year. Anyone who has a family needs this book.
