Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fun and fan service
Review: Fun little book. The humor and overall feel remind me a little bit of GTO, but this is for a slightly younger audience. A couple of laugh out loud moments (the scene with the dog and the "Doraemon" statue sequence were priceless), a sense of fun and plenty of fanservice :) Our heroes are a couple of broke teenagers who are "Getbackers" - they run an agency that can get back anything you want. The first book sees them infultrate the Yakuza to steal back a homeless man's daughter who has been kidnapped for failure to pay back the money he owed them. Needless to say, things get more complicated than they bargained for:) If you like Bastard!, GTO or City Hunter, you'll probably like this.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Interesting Manga
Review: GetBackers is a fun manga with lots of action in it. Ginji and Ban, the two "recovery agents" are successful "ALMOST" 100% of the time! I really liked this one because the artwork is pretty good and the comedy is also great. Ban and Ginji go through some hard times for very little money, but Ginji's power to use electricity with his body and Ban's "evil eye" make things a little easier. There are some sad moments, especially when the old bum who gave them a serious job dies.

The reason I didn't give the book 5 stars is because I'm a girl, and I don't necessarily enjoy the LARGE breasts of more than half the girls in the manga. There are also so parts that involve the groping of said girls from the bad guys. So if you really dont' like sort of thing, plus mild female nudity (meaning half covered) then you might want to reconsider. It doesn't happen much in the first book, but it does happen.

Still, all-in-all it was a fun one to read.
