Rating: Summary: Interesting Review: Comparing this to most of the manga I've read, I'd say it's better than decent. The drawing technique is intriguing. The characters are all completely goofy, though, saving the villains and the princess of the magical land Cephiro. This book had me laughing out loud at parts, which is very difficult, and the action scenes were good, if short. The characters were completely opposite in personality from what one recieves in the first impression. The only part that was slightly irritated me was the character attitudes. The characters were constantly comparing this adventure to a video game, and I despise when books or shows insult themselves or compare themselves to another aspect of entertainment. Overall, this book is worth buying. I recommend it for anyone that enjoys Ranma 1/2 and Sailor Moon, because this is pretty much what happens when they clash together.
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: For those of you who have just started reading this series, this review is for you. I have just started reading this first book today and I certainly swear you can't put it down. The book grabs you into a whole new dimension and has the largest imagination you can only dream of. The three girls destined to become Magical Knights are very funny and interesting. But...there is a little downside to this book. The point is, the whole story in the first book is way too rushed. It starts when the girls meet each other, and then a couple seconds after, they want to become sisters! I don't think a friendship is formed that fast. Anyways, besides that, this book is soooooo worth buying and I'm gonna order the next books in line soon.
Rating: Summary: An wonderful tale with stunning art! Review: Magic Knight Rayearth [MKR for short]is another great title by CLAMP.The story revolves around three junior high school girls-all from different schools-who went on a school trip to Tokyo tower, and were summoned from there to a magical world known as Cephiro. In Cephiro, the power of your will and the strength of your heart determines everything. The three girls have to become strong enough to awaken the ancient guardians of Cephiro in order to become magic knights, and return Cephiro to its former state to be able to return to Tokyo.I left out some details so as not to spoil things.Sounds typical doesnt it?Believe me,it isnt. The characters, plot, and actual ending are far from the what you would normally expect from such a title .Our three heroines are the major drawing point in this book.We have the innocent and sweet Hikaru, the intelligent, prudent, and kind Fuu.And of course, the temperamental and talented Umi.In addition to these lovable characters and unexpected plot, the art is of high quality. From one page to two page depictions of characters and settings that look simply gorgeous.I assure you,you wont find any complaints in the graphic department. Whether you are a manga fan looking for something new,or a person who has never read a graphic novel before,I recommend you try MKR.Its certainly worth it.There is also an anime series based on the manga for those who are interested, and you can order the VHS tapes or DVD compilation of the first season from Amazon.
Rating: Summary: wonderful Review: It has great illistrations and is a great story. I can't wait to get the rest!
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: This is such an awesome manga. The artwork is so freaking good, it's beautiful and detailed. The storyline and plot are amazing, and very surprising at times, especially the end....Then the characters! They are so beautiful, yet brave, and very strong. Three determined girls who aren't afraid of getting hurt....I love it! Also, I love it for its lack of romance. These girls obviously realize they have an important mission and don't have time to waste on that sort of thing. They are so headstrong. The place they are summoned to, Cephiro, is wondrous. This manga has so many good points. If you're interested in strong, brave, no-nonsense female warriors who use awesome swords and use magic (fire, water, air), get this now! It is sooooooooooooo much better than the anime!
Rating: Summary: Great Beginning ... Review: To those fans of CLAMP, I am sure you WILL enjoy this book with all its great arts. I haven't read this English version yet, but I have in another language. The beginning is GREAT to say the least (which is why I'm giving it a 5 stars rating) BUT... be aware that the ending (of the series) is defenitely not what anyone would expect or hope for. It is sort of a sad ending, yet it might satisfy some reader. For me the ending gets a 2 stars rating. Just don't expect too much. Some who have read another of CLAMP's work "R G Veda" might be familiar with the twist in their series' ending. Other great works from CLAMP are "X", "Tokyo Babylon", and "Sakura Card Captor". The last being currently reviewed and have so far enjoyed very much.
Rating: Summary: Lush artwork and an intriguing story to tell Review: Magic Knight Rayearth is visually stunning -- as fans have come to expect from CLAMP. It also has the emotional depth, philosophical weight, and plot twists that give CLAMP's stories a tone that sets them apart from most "children's fare." The artwork is richly detailed and reminiscent of the marvelous work by art nouveau icon Alphonse Mucha. You can live inside these pictures and never want to leave. The tale that unfolds will keep you spellbound as well. These are characters and actions that won't leave you after you put the book down but will find you asking days later "What would I have done in that situation?" If you want manga storytelling on an epic scale, enter the world of Rayearth.
Rating: Summary: Great for a first book! Review: This is a wonderful story that I've just gotten and read it three times already! This one is a gotta have for anime fans and you'll love it right away! If you like Sailor Moon or any orher shojo anime/manga you go to get this one!
Rating: Summary: If you've seen the anime, you've got to get the manga. Review: Magic Knight Rayearth is a great series, it's one of CLAMP's best stories. The plot is great, the artwork is utterly beautiful and elegant. If you like Shoujo stories and magical girl genre, I suggest you get the 3 volumes of the series. If you like MKR, I also suggest RG Veda, another famous CLAMP work.
