Summary: Inspiration and Passion
Review: To give this book a good review, you kind of have to be farmiliar with Manga Novels and how they work. Some random person might say this book goes fast, is confusing, and jumpy. But it's all in the concept of style. I thought this book was an excellent manga. One of the top. Now, onto the story and characters...
Well the storyline is perfectly fine as far as Manga's go, and the characters are all very cute. You could easily fall in love with all of them. My personal favorite is George, his blue hair, and personality.
This book is actually pretty good about how jumpy it gets. (Meaning you're in one part of the story, but suddenly the book wrenches you into another place...kind of confusing sometimes) I could follow it all the way through. But that could be because I was really into it.
Now, in order to actually "be into it" you don't have to be a fashion fan or a punk. One of my friends borrowed it for a short while and was only in the first few pages when I had to go to my next class, and was complaining how she wanted to keep reading.
When I was reading ParaKiss and got to those parts where George and Caroline had their *moments* I just felt the passion so strong and that was another strong aspect in why I fell in love with this book (and series, even though I have yet to read the others). And it wasn't just Caroline+George's special moments... It was fun with Miwako and Arashi too...it was especially cute when they had the (+extra+) intimate moment on the pool table.
Overall, the book was super-cali-fragilistick-expi-ali-docious!
A shoujo never to be forgotten! Read it!

Summary: Totally Absorbing
Review: Well, I first got indroduced to manga by a foreign exchange student at our school. The first series she lend me were Peach Girl and I didn't really get too interested in it other than for the art.
THEN she gave me Paradise Kiss....and that hooked me. Ai Yazawa's art is beautiful, I love all the characters and think George and Arashi are both handsome :-) (why don't guys look like manga characters in real life?)
The clothes are equally beautiful and I have paged through all the books after I am done just to look at the beautiful pictures again.
I found Caroline kind of snobbish at first but then i realized why by later books (her mother is very very strict)and felt more sorry for her.
Miwako is so cute and innocent, Isabelle is graceful and mother-like, George is sly and handsome, and Arashi is emotional and dependant.(lol).The characters all relate so well.
And about the "sex" scenes. They arn't that bad (then again its all drawn so wonderfully.....)
i am waiting for the 5th book eagerly but i wish there would be more than just 5!

Summary: More to life
Review: When I first came upon this at my library I put it down. On a bored rainy day I picked up again.. I was completely wrong about it. Yukino lives a mechanical teenage life under the rule of her mother: crush and school! Mostly school... and then, for a brief flicker she begins to wonder - is there anything more to life than all this (go to school, get good grades, make a ton of money).. and then she meets people living out their dreams and thinking on their own. Break out and get this manga now xP

Summary: A New Fashion For Manga
Review: While this series still contains all your seriotypical shoujo qualities (meaning it's designed specifically for teenaged girls likes: large eyes, long bodies, and aesthetically fulfilling), I've found it to be very unique and different from most shoujo manga. I think the character designs are a little more realistic with a distincted nose (that doesn't disappear), chin, and jaw line. How ever you'd like to desribe it, it's still pretty and definately a stray from the norm.

The story is once again rather unique. While romance does take up a lot of the story, it's not dictated by it. There are plenty of other things happening to keep you interested and the plot unpredictable. You'll really be surprised where the story ends up. It's not as angst ridden as typical girl's manga, but it still has sad, strange, and unusual things occuring in it's place.

But one warning: this manga is rated 16+, and not with out a good reason. Other than minor things like language, suggestive dialouge, and characters who are "equal opportunity lovers", book 3 contains some sex scenes... But for those of you who are mature enough for this, it's a great manga that's sure to please you.
