Summary: Must get starter book.
Review: I remembered buying each certain volume for nearly $... each back when I was still in middle school. Now that they have the 3-pack volume out, this is definitely worth buying.

- It saves you money over buying each volume individually
- 3 in 1 fun
- Great way to start collecting the whole Garfield's series
- Great for anyone! Kids, Adults, or even grandparents that love comic books
- Great way to make your kids love reading

Once you buy one, you will want to buy the other 3-pack volumes as well! When you read, be sure to wear a diaper, because it might make you pee in your pants. :)

Summary: No offense, but this is a dumb idea.
Review: I think this Fat Cat 3-Pack is a dumb idea for three reasons: 1) You can't separate the three books this way, 2) You can't get any glimpse of the back cover, and... 3) The quality of the pages isn't as good as the original books. The only plus-side to this is the price, and I think I'll save some more money to buy the books in their original form.

PS: This also applies to the other seven Fat Cat 3-Packs

Summary: A great collection
Review: If you didn't pick up the first 3 Garfield titles when they were released in the large format full color then this is a must have for any Garfield fan. You get many cartoons for your dollar.

Summary: This is one cool cat!
Review: Lazy but lovable Garfield is at it again in this 3-pack of laughter, love, and lascivious locution. Master cartoonist Jim Davis pulls off this grand triumvirate with a chilling, icicle-like insight into the pathos of Everyman, invoking the spirit of Bil Keane in its depth and, dare I say, rivaling the Bible in its coded prophecies. The beauty of the Garfield series (excluding the movie) is Davis' ability to appeal to an 11-month-old's concrete operational brain while still stimulating even the most erudite of minds.

My favorite part of the Garfield mythos is Davis' masterful retelling of the trinity metaphor, with John (the Baptist?) as the befuddled messenger, Odie as the insipid follower and unwitting vessel, and our hero Garfield, ever the gluttonous cynic, preacher and puller-of-strings. But the coup de tat is the role of Lasagna as a Faustian devil bent on the seduction and destruction of America if not all of mankind. Personally, I think the character of Lasagna is the most dynamic in the series, despite its outward appearance as a simple baked pasta dish (beautifully rendered by Davis and his team of Svengali ink artists). If only we could understand the complexities of its layers, perhaps we could all take a step toward fathoming why it is we gobble up the things that matter most. Jim Davis, you have my utter awe. Two thumbs up!

Summary: Another fine literary drama by Jim Davis
Review: The saga of Garfield, Odie, and Jon continues. This dramatic and moving yet highly disturbing portrait of late-nineties domestic suburban sexual denial forces the reader to delve into his/her own tortured sexual psyche, much like Catherine and Heathcliff but as a trio each exploring their own unrequieted desire. The tension is unbearable, and Garfield's repeated replacement of food for sexual yearning is telling of late twentieth-century sexuality. Odie's alienation as a result of Garfield's spurning for the love of his inanimate replacement for Jon, in the form of Pookie, is obviously a compelling metaphor for post-colonial AIDS isolation. Alone in the confusing mire of mixed signals that is their home, poor Garfield has no choice but to seek solace in the soft, safe, squishy bosom of Pookie, denying the pain and self-loathing so apparent in his everyday encounters. Odie, much like Hillary to Bill, pointlessly attempts again and again to win the affections of a reckless, wanton, yet powerful force who has become consumed by his meager life, ironically encouched in power. Jon's unrealized quest for gratification is symbolic of the fall of Communism and is a clever representation of the fall of the wall and the troubles of subsequent unification. Supplanted in a landscape of repression and denial, our three protagonists seek comfort in their base desires: coffee becomes the drug of choice, providing escape from the hell that is life, much like today's "raver" youth seeking comfort in "ecstasy" and "techno". Woe to he/she who proceeds beyond the cover of this prophetic tome! Another masterpiece accomplishment by Davis, sure to keep him in literary courses of the future.

Summary: It's about humor, that'll make you laugh your head off!
Review: This book is humor way off reality. Do you know Garfield hates spiders? When he kills a spider, Jon open his newspaper, magazine, etc, and find a HUGE imprint of the spider! That's all for now. BYE!

Summary: Another stunning achievement for author Jim Davis!
Review: This book left me breathless! I was stunned! A perfect blend of comedy, drama, and even science fiction! Everything was written just as it was should have been written. Genius. Simply genius. Pure genius.
