Summary: It was downhill from issue 1
Review: If you're going to read any Spawn, read this and nothing else. The very very beginning shows promise -- if the art is cleaned up a little and the coloring made less garish, then this could have become interesting. Needless to say it didn't. It breaks my heart to see people talking such great thing about Spawn like it's great literature. Go read A CONTRACT WITH GOD, WATCHMEN, BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, MAUS, DAVID BORING, JIMMY CORRIGAN THE SMARTEST KID ON EARTH, and most importantly UNDERSTANDING COMICS. Then get your money away from Todd McFarlane's new clothes and read some real comics literature.

Summary: Why is it that everyone who hates Spawn can't spell?
Review: It seems to me that people who talk about reading GOOD literature should be able to spell fairly well, right? Not the case.

Summary: Finally, an interesting superhero.
Review: Out of all the mainstream comics on the market today - superman, spiderman, batman, etc. - Spawn is certainly the best. The main thing contributing to this is the realism of Spawn, that he has a very dark human nature and he shows you that it's okay not to be perfect. The art also compliments the story. Detailed, Gothic, and with a dark style all it's own, each page is vibrantly alive.

Summary: Spawn Book Four a hit
Review: Spawn Book Four collects the debut of Greg Capullo as penciller of Spawn. Written by Todd McFarlane, one of the best writers in the business, this paperback is a perfect companion to any Spawn collection. Greg Morrison provides additional story material. Read about Spawn and his eternal struggle to battle evil.

Summary: To readers from OKC and USA
Review: Spawn isn't about being the typical super-hero to look up to. He is much more representative of a true person, and therefore much more realistic. We all have a darker side, and society teaches us to hide from it. Only if we pull it out into the light and examine it for what it is can we truely deal with it. That's what Spawn is. If we continue to hide our dark sides from everyone, including ourselves they will build up and take us over eventually. Super-heroes such as Superman make it seem like if you even have an impure thought, let alone commit an act that isn't the right thing to do, then you must be evil. Ppl then compare themselves to these characters. Some ppl feel guilty for not measuring up to these standards. I think that is also one of the major problems of many major religions.

Summary: SPAWN RULES !
Review: spawn rules and thats that. Im one of his biggest fans. And Todd Mcfarlane is brillant. He has a great figure company. Bottom line buy this book and every other book you find because he rocks!

Summary: The start of it all. A must read for all comic fans!
Review: This book is the beginning of MacFarlane's Spawn dynasty. It is also the beginning of the graphic masterpiece that is Spawn. It slowly takes grasp of you, and wraps you in the plight of Al Simmons, a.k.a. Spawn. This is a great way for new fans to get the early issues (1-5), or even for us comic vets who want to have all five in one convenient package! Also recommended, Spawn books 2-6. Believe me, it will hook you!

Summary: the demon murdering fiery assasin from hell. cool
Review: this is a very worth buying comic book. it has an exciting plot that includes emotion drama and lotsof brain pounding action plus you find out a little more why al simmons/ spawn
was assasinated and sent to hell. this book also has a very intresting twist with the famous magician harri houdini . and even if you arent familiar with the concept and story of spawn this comic is a pretty good place to start. i would recommend this spawn to any new or old fan.
