Summary: ex-fan
Review: as some one else already mentioned Spawn ... I would just like to renforce this statment. i read spawn(unfortunately)up to issue 50 when the plot line involved cybernatic gorrila with the brain of a betrayed special agent. need I say more? Todd Mcfarlen's only motove is profit. He has even admitted this in interviews. In his own words "i want Spawn to be a house hold name" Wizard special. He stopped drawing to merely focus on making Spawn products. Toy line is horrorific. how many spawn figures do you need? gotta collect them all. go and spend your money some where else. Neal Gaiman's Sandman, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Cerebus all of these are landmarks in comic literature. Oh and as long were topic of reading pickup some other reading materail such as Fight Club, Ender's Game, and the Godfather(yes there is a book and its good. really good)

Review: Beautiful coloring, wonderfully detailed artwork - enticing storyline - definitely a "should have".

Summary: Spawn--he ain't no X-men! (or Batman, Wolverine or Superman)
Review: Going against the popular belief in the comic supermarket of superheroes, Spawn falls far short of our greatest heroes. Limping across the finish line as an "also ran" Spawn fails to make a case for himself as a redeeming fallen hero. Hero's are role models we admire and respect. There is little to admire about a brooding vengeful assasin such as Al Simmons. The storyline is very thin as evidenced by the novice McFarlane turning over the writing chores in subsequent issues to breathe life into an already "Dead" character. The artwork has a "cartoony" style if you're into that kind of art but the coloring by Steve Oliff is quite top notch and is the most redeeming factor of the book and definitely ahead of his time back in "92." Although the early chapters of Spawn showed promise current readers know how far off-line Spawn has gone. The artwork now is exceedingly gorey, grotesque and downright depressing. As an oddity, Spawn has its cronies but as a hero with the longevity, love and respect that the great superheroes command--Spawn doesn't stand a chance. Oh sure, McFarlane has the money and machinery in place to ram Spawn down our throats for decades to come. Spawn may well be a household word someday but when it crosses our lips will it be spoken in disgust?

Summary: Spawn is the best
Review: I grew up reading comic books and have always had a fondness
for them. Spawn is stylish and cool. I love it's darness and
the moral ambiguity; the anguish and emotion that is portrayed.
Of course the fact that Spawn kicks tail helps. To comment
on someone else's review where they protested about TM
commercializing Spawn and making a ton of money - who cares??
If I came up with something this good I would expect to be
well compensated as well. If it wasn't any good people wouldn't
be willing to pay for it now would they??

Enjoy!! Spawn is good stuff

Summary: Spawn Review
Review: I thought that the book entitled "Spawn" was a very good book. It combined all the necessaary tools you need to make it a good book. It combined action, suspense, and drama all into one. Overall, of course, it had some funny moments and some sick parts that I didn't care for. But never the less I still enjoyed the book iemensely. The author is Rob MacGregor and hie has wrote other books before that are this good. In the book Spawn though, he tells about a man that was sent to hell and back again to kill one that will try to kill off the world. But if he kills him then the how world wil seise to exsist.

Summary: To Reader from USA
Review: I would just like to commend you for your insightful review of Spawn. I began to collect in 92', and quit shortly. I thought of looking into the series again, but after reading your review, you helped me relive what I felt seven years ago. Thanks.
