Summary: give it a chance
Review: I will be the first to admit that this is not the best manga I've ever read, however, I'm not really writing this review based on the first volume of the series. It definately has its flaws, but I have a problem starting a series and not finishing it. In this case, that turned out to be a good thing. Yes, the main character was abrasive and I didn't fall in love with him in the first volume, but remember this is just setting up the premise not telling the whole story in one fell swoop. The following volumes explain events that make the MC understandable and even likable. It is no better or worse than any martial manga. Perhaps it is a little better than some because the MC is proven to have a brain in small ways, unlike other manga MCs who are never redeemed from the realm of the lovable idiot savant with the golden heart. Therefore, the four stars are not for a single volume of King of Hell but for the totality of the series thus far. I really do enjoy characters who are not what they seem to be, just as this first volume is not representative of the whole.

Summary: Not sure yet
Review: I will buy the second book but not sure about it yet. The main character is a wise cracking sword totting teenage grim reaper(he does not appear real smart at times either, but at other times you suspect maybe it is an act.) The background this wise cracking kid is the most powerful swardsman to have ever lived or in this case died. He was in his area of hell/heaven, people like him are beyond judgement, when after only a week he had kicked the ... of all his roomies. So he was turned into a kid and made to work for the king of hell, I am guessing this was someones idea to keep him out of trouble or something??

Review: Now, i'm not going to sit here and type every little detail that i didn't like in this book. people who do that make everyone mad and get nothing accomplished. First off I just wanna say that this manga is lacking greatness in alot of catagories. You can tell the creator tried to make it semi-comedic, but unfortunatly failed miserably. At first you think the main charactor is cool and refreshing, but after a few pages, you just start to hate his guts. The art is so dark and blotchy, that most of the time, you have no idea what's going on.
But like I said, I'm not going to name all the flaws in this book. Nutshell: not a great series, try something a little more developed and exciting.
But hey, I've loved tons of stuff that didn't always agree with people, so don't get discouraged with the less than great ratings this series has been getting. You never know, everyone else may not like it, but maybe you will. Who cares what some faceless critic thinks anyway? (exspecially if they don't particularly agree with you)

Review: This is a great new manga. The art is some of the best I have seen in manga today. The story is electifying, expecially if you are into feudal Korea and its lore. If you like action packed manga and great art, then you will want to pick this up. If you like intense fighters slaying demons with a side of humor (yes, Im talking to you Inu Yasha fans out there) then you will definetely want this manga. The best part is that it is new and there are only 6 volumes to collect so far. This means you dont have to go out and collect 26 of these things right off the bat. Conclusion, get this.
