Summary: A violent tale of betrayal and Marv
Review: A great book written and illustrated by Frank Miller, this is a tale of Sin City and a man named Dwight. Dwight has been kicked down and made to suffer all his life. The hits just keep on coming. His only aid comes from a freakish human monster named Marv and deadly prostitutes with a happy trigger finger. Give this tale of death and betrayal a try, and you'll never escape from Sin City

Summary: one wicked dame
Review: Ava is one nasty villian ad she is the focus of this graphic novel. Her lack of nuance is the books major flaw but the art and raw intensity of Miller's storytelling makes it a solid success. The pictures are awesome!

Summary: imagination street
Review: dark, mysterious and eerie fantasies that take you into other vivid worlds. An imagination jump-start.

Summary: Great Art
Review: Despite the sometimes obvious and familiar plotline, "A Dame To Kill For" manages to remain fresh, entertaining and draws the reader into story. The art is superb and the dialogue and narration are great as well. Very entertaining. A dark noir classic.

Summary: An obvious story, but those pictures!
Review: Double Indemnity. The Postman Always Rings Twice. Body Heat. If you've seen any of these A Dame to Kill for won't fool you in the least. If not, have fun with the very familiar story. I've been buying these to check out Miller's layouts and graphics; designs that no one in the field is even coming close to. The story is secondary. If this series ever gets to the point where the story and the art reach the same level it could stand with other classics of the genre.

Summary: Embrace the Dark Side!
Review: Equally as good as the original, this follow-up centers on the character named Dwight. He's fallen for a certain woman's lies, and has had enough. The story centers on his trying to exact revenge on her, and he recruits our hero Marv from the original Sin City in the process. Interesting, if you know the outcome of the first story. My favorite device used here was the showing of the same bar scene from Sin City. I am a huge fan of cross-referencing stories, and I've never seen this used so well in a graphic novel before. So, like I've said before, any doubts? Get some. Pick up some more Sin City today.

Summary: Raymond Chandler on steroids!!!
Review: Frank Miller is at his best in the second story of his Sin City series. Miller further explores the dark violent and sexy world that is populated with characters that pull you in and don't let you go till the very end. If you like Raymond Chandler you will love Frank Miller's "A Dame To Kill For."(I know that's a clique, but it's true.) I can't recomend this book enough!

Summary: ANOTHER TALE OF THE TOWN WITHOUT PITY...
Review: Frank Miller is perhaps the most highly regarded of cartoonists working today. He has won multiple Eisner Awards and a Reben Award form the prestigious National Cartoonist's Society. After relaunching the Batman franchise with his graphic novel, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Frank Miller turned his attention to crime comics. The Sin City series is the result. Here's what the critics are saying....

"With characters like these, [Frank Miller is] rejuvenating the vernacular American art form of comics." The New York Times

"Frank Miller's Sin City series takes Raymond Chandler and - yikes! - goes one up on the nihilism. His characters are classic movie archetypes: the whore with a heart of gold, the good girlfriend turned bad, the stoci hit man. But in Miller's work the hero - or antihero - usually ends up dead." Playboy

"Frank Miller changed the comix world forever. His stories are told with a style that locks you into his world. His art is dark and foreboding, overflowing with passion. If you haven't read anything by Frank Miller, do yourself a favor and get lost in Sin City." Spazz Magazine

"[Sin City] could well be a textbook on ways to handle dense, complex, heavy-line art with no shades of gray - a daring experiment, but one Miller's well-capable of handling. Classic film fans and experimental comics fans alike will be eagerly awaiting for him to continue making this kind of magic." The Daily Iowan

"The truth - not fantasy - about Frank Miller is he's not done yet. The man's still a young man. And the world is still waiting." Deseret News (Salt Lake City, UT)

"[Sin City]'s engaging characters and stunning noir art make it one of the best (and best-selling) works in the comics field today." The Onion (Madison, WI)

"In stark pages of black and white, Frank Miller is again re-defining what the medium is capable of, and, more importantly, breathing new life into a genre long thought dormant." Carpe Noctem

"re-invented his entire genre" - SOMA, the magazine of Left Coast Culture

Summary: The strongest storyline and artwork in the series.
Review: If you've read the original sin city but you don't no which to get next, I strongly reccommend this one. The story line centres around Dwight, a friend of Marv who actually features in this yarn (This story cleverly coincides with the first novel.)
The artwork is very slick, all stylish shadows and moody expressions.
The noir mood is consistant throughout and never gets tiring.
If you don't own this;shame on you.
