Summary: Soft Porn
Review: Just a note to parents out there - these books are not as innocent as they might appear from the cover. They are about at a level with modern American soap operas - pretty bad. No actual drawings of sexual organs but lots of pictures suggesting sexual activity; boys talking about taking a girl's virginity; intended rapes - including gang rapes - that are prevented at the last minute by the entrance of the hero; girls trying to win boys over by offering them sex; misunderstandings galore in which the boy has sex with the wrong girl or the girl wakes up in a strange bed. Even if you don't object to your daughter reading something with so much sex in it, you'll probably object to the antifeminist portrayal of girls obsessed with catching the right boy and using sex to do it. The heroine and hero do try to stay above all this and true to each other, but they still involve themselves in vengeful plots to teach the bad girls lessons. It's only natural that preteen girls should be curious about dating, etc., but these books give a really false and bad impression of what sex, love, and life are all about. People might say that this type of book is just for fun, but there's a lot of fun stuff out there that also makes you think and grow as a person: books and movies that deal with social-sexual issues in a more moral and responsible way and lead to an appetite for better and better literature. Sex is, after all, a major theme in literature. But the "Peach Girl" series would only develop a taste for more of the same, or worse.

Summary: Excellent Offering of Shoujo Manga
Review: Peach Girl is one of the most enjoyable offerings of shoujo in English that I have ever read. The first story arc(covered in volumes 1-4) is my favorite!

It is a very angsty teenage drama and at times it's almost painful to watch poor Momo suffer, but all ends up well in the end....until the next story arc =-p The romance and drama are well mixed and a love triangle forms slowly without you really realizing it.

Fans of shoujo should be sure to pick this up!

Summary: I thought this book was great!
Review: For every person who said that they did not like this book, I was shocked! I thought it was wonderful, as it had comedy, drama, and it was basically about a teen girl's life. Okay, so it wasn't so realistic, but that's half the beauty of it. The story is about Momo Adachi, a highschool swimmer who is constantly being judged by her looks. She has light blonde hair that everyone automatically assumes is bleached and really tan skin from being on the softball team and swim team. However, everyone thinks that she is a "bad girl", even though she is actually a really innocent girl. Her "best" friend, Sae Sasaki (in other books it says Kashiwagi instead of Sasaki, so I'm not sure), wants everything that she wants, right from a school bag to the guy of Momo's dreams since Jr. High, Toji, or Kazuya Tojigamori. Along the way, Momo meets up with the annoying and incredibly funny (in my opinion) Kiley Okayasu, who happens to be one of the hottest guys in school and now AFTER MOMO!! The book takes many surprising turns and I read the book, literally 10 times the first day that I got it. My friends and I have all ten that are out so far among us, and we've been recommending them to everyone who likes to read, so perhaps you should try it out too. I loved this!

Summary: I was not impressed with Peach Girl at all...
Review: This is one of the most beautifully done manga I've seen, but that is all it has going for it in my eyes. The characters are shallow and superficial. The plot is unoriginal, and I felt as though I wanted to slit my wrists after reading some of the episodes. Not for those who feel for another person.

Summary: Definitely Teen Romance
Review: I bought this because I thought the artwork was gorgeous, but was highly disappointed at the content. There is no depth to the characters [Everyone dislikes Momo because she has a tan?], and the plot is unoriginal [Friend of main character out to corrupt their life]. If you're not too worried about stereotypical characters, and character development and depth isn't important to you, you may enjoy this book. But overall, it's just a predictable cheesy teen romance novel with cute artwork.

Summary: Your fly is unzipped!!
Review: When i first saw the cover of this manga it really sacred me. This poor girl didn't even notcie her fly was down. How pathectic. I probably wouldn't have read it exept that one of my friends was always going on and on about how wonderful it was so i decided to give it a try. It was actually better then i thought:-) The plot and action was tight and the characters were interesting and fun but the reason i am only giving it 3 stars is because i really don't like the artwork and the covers all make me feel like i'm gonna be sick so..... If you like fun shoujo mangas you will probably enjoy Peach girl a lot. The main characters name is Momo meaning peach in japanese that's why it's called peach girl for those who are curious.

Summary: Funny and addictive
Review: Dont let the weird cover fool you, this is a great book! I really like it because it has great art and a great story. Once I picked it up, I couldnt put it down. The relationships between the characters were so interesting and you cant wait to see what happens to them next. This is a really great book for teenage girls (like me) because the characters and story are so great. Momo is really honest and shy, which makes you want to see if things work out for her. Sae is evil to the core, you just want to [hit] her (i know i do). Kiley is funny and has somewhat of a big mouth, but I still like him anyway. Toji is honest and a nice guy. Once again, this is a great book! Too bad I only bought the first one, I cant wait to get all of the others!
