Summary: One of the best shoujo series ever!
Review: A lot of people compare Marmalade Boy to a soap opera, and I understand why, but I think that gives a slightly wrong impression. There *is* an enormous love polygon in this series, but instead of being shallow and nonsensical like a soap, the relationships in Marmalade Boy are true to life. This series touches on topics that so many other love stories gloss over: problems getting along with one's family, the complicated feelings people have about their friends, envy, the importance of trust, and the difficulty of a couple staying together when everyone seems to want to tear them apart.
I don't want to make it sound like Marmalade Boy is full of angst; it has it's share, but it's full of laughs as well. It's light but deep at the same time. The characters are well-rounded, but take some time to get to know. I prefer the anime to the manga (coming soon from TOKYOPOP as well ^_^), but out of all the shoujo manga I've read, this series is one of the best.

Summary: An Exciting Book to Read and Keep
Review: After I read this mind gripping book, I couldn't stop! I'm trying to get a hold of the other books after this one, because it just makes you want to read more.
This book is about a girl who is trapped between her parents getting divorced, a cute step brother, and a nagging boy who rejected her years ago. As she deals with all this, she finds herself getting to know her step brother, Yuu, better.
I can't wait until I read the rest of this series!!! I am so going to convince my mom/dad to get all the Marmalade Boy books! Oh yeah, there are 8 books in the series.
If you're really hooked on Marmalade Boy, you can buy their epidodes. It's called Marmalade Boy Ultimate Scrapbook, Volume 1. There are 76 episodes total, but for now, they have only made episodes 1 through 19 in a boxed set of 3 dvd's. It's $84.99 (only at Amazon.com)
I hope this helps you, and I hope you will grow to love Marmalade Boy as much as I do. ;)

Summary: Shoujo with Style
Review: I am a fan of shoujo (girl's romantic) anime and manga, and this series by Wataru Yoshizumi just blew me away. Not only is the artwork superlative (the best I've ever seen), but the story is unique. Among a wasteland of giant robots, girls with superpowers, etc., Marmalade Boy shines above many other series.

The story begins as Miki Koshikawa and her parents are nonchalantly sipping tea together. Mr. and Mrs. Koshikawa say calmly that they're getting a divorce, and that they are basically getting remarried to another couple that they met in Hawaii.

Miki is unhappy by this arrangement and even more so after she finds out that the other couple is moving in with her family! Worse yet, she finds out that the other couple has a son named Yuu who is a punky jerk to her.

Adding insult to injury, Miki's friend Ginta is trying to rekindle a romance with Miki. Due to a misunderstanding, Miki thought he didn't love her and is surprised when he kisses her and tells her he loves her. What happens next? You'll have to find out in the next manga volume of Marmalade Boy!

Summary: The best manga yet
Review: I just started reading Marmalade Boy awhile back and get hooked right away. Once I read the first i just had to get the second and third. It all starts when Miki's parents decide to get divorced and get married to a different couple who happen to have a son Miki's age whose name is Yuu. Miki's and Yuu's parents decide to live together in a big house. In the beginning Miki and Yuu seem to dislike each other and can't get along. After awhile Miki seems to take to him, but then Yuu's old girlfriend,Arimi, comes along and Miki's old crush,Ginta, tell Miki he loves her. Now Miki is stuck in love triangle and can't make her mind who she likes more. Arimi and Ginta decide to put on a act that their going out to help Miki decide. Later in the third book Ginta tells Miki to hurry and decide and if she choose him, he'll dump Arimi, but if not he'll continue dating Arimi. After thinking things over, Miki tells Ginta she likes Yuu more and that Ginta should continue going out with Arimi. Ginta's crushed and tells her everything about the act. She still hasn't changed her mind. Arimi apologizes later to Miki for the act, but yells at her about Yuu and runs off. She runs into him and tells him she still loves him, but Yuu doesn't feel the same way. As if things couldn't get more complicated Miki's best friend, Meiko, is caught having and affair with her teacher and gets suspended from school. And who is the mysterious new character Miwa? I totally recomend this book, but you should read the first and second manga before this on

Summary: Definetly Worth It!
Review: I was recently given this manga to me by a friend of mine, whom told me it was one of the best she's ever read (and let me tell you, she's read a lot!). I didn't believe her, so I borrowed it just to prove her wrong. Well, it turns out I proved MYSELF wrong! This manga is wonderful and hilarious, but more for the teenage readers. The manga is very realistic (except for her parents) and it has a terrific plot. I would definetly recommnend this manga to teenagers. Older people would probably not enjoy it as much.

Summary: Wataru Yoshizumi's beloved manga series is finally available
Review: Marmalade Boy is a shojo (girls') manga by Wataru Yoshizumi, centering around high school student Miki Koishikawa and her crazy circle of family and friends. In this, the first volume, Miki's parents are divorcing in order to swap spouses with another couple, the Matsuuras. While Miki's less than thrilled with this turn of events, the other couple's son, Yuu, is awfully good-looking...

Once Miki, Yuu, and their parents have all moved into one house as one big happy family, a new wrinkle is added. Ginta Suou, Miki's tennis club captain and long-time friend, rejected her in junior high when she wrote him a love letter. They're just friends now...or at least Miki feels that way. Ginta may feel a bit differently...

Yoshizumi's elegant (though anatomically disastrous) art does a handy job of realizing the quirky characters, and the top-notch localization helps pull you into Miki's world. The plotting is expert also (though on occasion soap-operaish). This is one of my favorite manga series, and I highly recommend it.

Summary: five stars, DUH!!!
Review: once you pick up the first volume of Marmalade Boy, it's impossible to get rid of it...you're hooked after the first ten pages. it was too late once i bought the book; i knew that i would have to buy the rest!!! its the funniest, cutest, book i've ever read. im really into the whole sappy-love thing, but i hate when it gets cheezy, and yoshizumi kindly walks this fine line with ease. even though i've never gotten over-emotionally involved in anything (i.e., crying during sad movies...seriously, i watched a walk to remember and my eyes were the dryest in the house...crying when you watch a puppy die, etc. etc.) <
