Summary: Takahashi draws me in once again.
Review: First of all... RUMIKO TAKAHASHI IS A GENIUS!!! I read all the Inu Yashas that were out, another awesome series, I heard this was funny so I got it. Sure, YOU can say it was funny, I say it was hilarious! It's a hilarious look into the embarrising life of cutie-pie, Ranma Saotome.
For anyone who reads Inu Yasha, this series is WAY different. Like, no demons, no frustrating white monkeys, no evil dead girlfriends... don't even get me started with her!! Anyway... Inu Yasha does contain some curses and Ranma sure has bad luck with those!!
Anyway, everyone else already wrote about the story in their reviews, so no need for me to. It's a great story with funny charactors AND situations. It's even better now 'cause it's smaller and cheaper. but I of course read this awile ago and had to pay 16 bucks!... oh well, it was worth it. Go out and pick one up today! Make sure you get the cheap one!!!

Summary: Another classic will keep you in stitches...
Review: Another classic manga by Takahashi Rumiko that will keep you laughing the entire time. She introduces a whole cast of unforgettable characters, many of who are victims of the Nanichuan cursed springs in China, and will turn into various things (girl, panda, pig, cat, duck, etc) when they get water dumped on them. As is obvious, much water-dumping and hilarity ensues. It's really sweet and funny.

Summary: Good for a story, great for a manga, and best for a laugh!
Review: Of the many mangas (that's anime in book form for those of you who are new) I have read, I'd have to say this one tops them all. Rumiko Takahasi, the "Queen of Romantic Comedy," is none other than a Japanese artistic marvel. She also came up with Inuyasha, which I have to say is good, but none beat Ranma 1/2.

This first volume introduces Ranma, a boy whos father is perhaps too eager for martial arts training. Unable to read Chinese, he took his son to the legendary training grouds, the Accursed Springs in China. Ranma knocked his father into one spring and he came up...a panda? More than a little weirded out Ranma fell into another spring, and when he was once a [HOT!] guy, came up a well-figured girl! This curse is lifted with warm water, but when doused with cold water they turn back into their other strange forms! An old friend of the Saotomes (Ranma and his pop) has three daughters, and they were going to have Ranma marry one of the girls to join the families and keep up the martial arts schools. Well, that was before they came, and when the girls find out, the youngest, Akane Tendo, becomes engaged to him (by their fathers' choice, of course). Their personalities clash, but they'll just have to get used to it. What follows is a series of odd but very funny mishaps that'll have you eagerly awaiting the next page...and the next volume. That's how it is, it's a real page turner and always leaves you wanting to read the next book.

I would reccommend this to anyone who loves anime, mangas, anyone who's into martial arts, and/or appreciates a good comedy. But don't think that's all, there's a really good storyline that's pretty easy to follow, and wonderful characters with many personalities. This is a must for any anime lover, boy, girl, or half and half!

Summary: Ranma Rules!!!
Review: I recently ordered this because I heard good things and ever since I read it I've been addicted. As it is I've been nagging my parents to get me the third graphic novel in the series (I bought the first two as a sample). I also have a wish list of 141 items and counting and most of them are by Rumiko Takahashi the author of this graphic novel. No wonder she's called The Queen of Romantic Comedy. If I had my way, I would have all her manga.

Summary: Rumiko Takahashi : The humor queen.
Review: Every single time I go to Borders, I buy one of two, maybe three of these books. There is absolutely no such thing as too much Ranma, because, unlike lots of people I know, I read what I buy in one day (Ranma wise). It's about a halfboy/halfgirl named Ranma, and his father who turns into a panda. They turn into their abnormal figures with cold water, and reverse back to their normal forms in warm water. And then, Ranma was introduced to three girls, and was chosen to MARRY Akane, the one who despised men. (But it made sense, since Ranma was 1/2 girl, anyway, so Akane didn't have to marry a full boy.) There is a lot of use of hillarious sarcasm, jokes, and sweet comments that turn into "just kidding" 's between Ranma and Akane. Ranma is a gentleman at heart, he doesn't like to fight girls. I really suggest you buy this book if you have a huge sense of humor. But if you don't have a sense of humor, it'll make no difference; You'll laugh until you cry, and cry until you sob anyway. (I get carried away by some of the jokes, so you might think I'm exagerating once you read it).

Summary: This is good, but...
Review: Okay, first things first--I LOVE Ranma 1/2. I own almost all of the books and have written a multitude of fanfiction about it. True, I like some of the books more than others, but that is another story.

I am not going to review the story, since others have done that for me. Instead, I'm going to critique the design of the book itself. The art is excellent, as with all of Takahashi-san's work, but the problem is that it is too dark. You know how some copiers print out pages that are covered in black splotches or just too dark and fuzzy to read clearly? Well, that is the problem with the first and second books of Ranma. It is nearly impossible in some areas of the story for me to see the pictures--almost as if someone had put it through a copier and forget to put Edge Erase on.

But that is my ONLY complaint with this book, and the second volume. This little distraction is cleared up after the second book.

Go ahead and get the books, but be warned that some of the pictures are hard to see.

Summary: One of the best things I have ever read!
Review: Ranma 1/2 Vol. 1 is one of my favorite books. I don't know if it is really considered a book because it is drawn comic-book style, but whatever. This book is SO AWESOME! And it has a great story! I read over half of it in one sitting, because I JUST COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!! And I'm not the kind of person who says that about books often. I can't wait to read the second volume. Ok, this book does show girls' top halves naked, but get over it! It's really not that bad. Anyway...I highly recommend this book. It's great for people who read often, or reluctant readers. And the anime art is awesome! Rumiko Takahashi has talent!

Summary: Why Ranma Rocks!
Review: This book was really funny. It's kinda pointless in the beginging but then it has a point. Girl Ranma is better then boy Ranma.
