Summary: fone rules and phoney drools
Review: This book was a blast! It reminded me of Pogo, and Moby Dick. Phoney was the kind of character who wallows in big smelly piles of self pity('"God, I pity me"') and he reminded me of a combo Scrooge McDuck/a big drooling rat creature/Calvin/my brother. He was annoying, obnoxious, and lots of fun.

Fone Bone was his total opposite in many ways. He is industrious and he is cute. Also the action was well paced. You can really hear the CRASH, BIFF, SLOP, SHPLUP, and CHUNK noises, but they don't get annoying like in some comics I've read. The actual story is funny and good and not lost in those background sounds, and the art is good too.

I thought that this comic Bone treasury was the best I've ever read(in fact it's the only one I've ever read, but it makes me want to read some more!). You will like it too if you try it.

I am 12 and I think Bone is awesome!

Summary: Return to your childhood bed-time story..
Review: This comic book takes you to the magical forest, somewhere far away from Boneville, where different creatures rule, and where charm wins. Follow Fone Bone and see how he manages to survive in the sudden winter, all alone in a strange place, while searching for his nephews. This black & white book makes you want to grab some crayons and pass the cold evening coloring it. Get the book, and you can actually do it!

Summary: This a book about three (live)bones.
Review: This is a book about three live bones(Fone Bone, "Phoney"Bone, and Smiley Bone)who are run out of Boneville because of Phoney. A swarm of locusts knocks Fone off a cliff, and when he climbs up again, his friends are nowhere to be seen! He hikes a mountain range and ends up stuck in a valley for the winter. In the valley Fone makes a lot of friends(and enemies). Ted the Bug, one of these friends, recommends a wise person named Thorn to help him get back to Boneville. Thorn turns out to be only a girl, but Fone gets a crush on her! Meanwhile, Phoney meets Gran'ma Ben, Thorn's grandma. They end up at their house with Thorn&Fone. However, when Phoney learns that Gran'ma is a famous cow racer, he's off to town to develop a scam. In town, Phoney meets Smiley and links him to his scam. But Phoney can't pay his bill and ends up as the cook. Over at the barn, Fone, Thorn, and Gran'ma are seiged by the hideous rat creatures. Fortunately, they live to reunite the bones.

Summary: So good, it should be given to all children at birth.
Review: This is awesome. It put a smile on my face that lasted for weeks--really unnerving to the neighbors. The book's sweetness and humour makes this a no-brainer. Sitting in a warm, well light room with this collection comes close to paradise. Now I have to talk about Moby Dick...ZZZZZ.

Summary: Simply Charming
Review: This is my favorite comic. This story is about three brothers (Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone) who have been chased from their hometown because of Phoney's overpowering greed and quest for political power. These brothers are little while creatures call Bones. These Bone brothers get lost and separated as they flee their hometown. Individually they stuble into a fantasy world populated by humans. After the brothers get separated, the story focuses on Fone Bone. Fone adapts to living in this new world. During his long winter stay, he runs into Thorn, a human girl. He instantly falls in love and becomes friends with Thorn, but he finds it impossible to express his love. Fone eventually moves in with Thorn and her grandmother. While staying at their house, there is a terrible crisis. They are attacked by the mysterious and terrifying rat creatures. Can they survive? Read it and find out.

The art in this book is simply a pleasure to look at. The story had a simple sweet touch, but really livens up when the action starts. I was especially moved by the love between Fone and Thorn. I'm hoping that Fone will build up his courage and confess his love. If you read only one comic, this is the one you have to read. Don't miss it.

Summary: Bone-affied success
Review: This is the best comic book ever written. Bone pulls together fantasy and humor into a great read. Jeff Smith's art is even better. The story moves through magic, dragons, swords and armor, and........cow racing. Jeff Smith is one of the best writers out there and Bone is a treasure that everyone can enjoy.

Summary: Bone-afide entertainment (excuse the bad pun)!
Review: This series has taken on a very slow pace lately, but the first few issues are positively magical. I know its been said before, but Bone does pay a very strong tribute to POGO; Fone Bone possesses character traits similar to Pogo's and there is at least a little bit of Albert the gator in Smiley Bone. Phone Bone, however, doesn't seem to resemble anyone from POGO except, perhaps, Seminole Same (actually Phone Bone bears an uncanny resemblance to Bill Watterson's Calvin). Anyway, this is good stuff. I would say the only thing missing is color, but the absence of it makes the artwork more savory somehow
