Rating: Summary: This is possibly one of the best comic books ever published. Review: Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone, all of them "Bones", short white creatures, get lost in an uncharted desert and come into a mysterious valley. The comics are hilarious, with great jokes and character-driven humour. Taken together in a collection, you can see the Bone cousins find themselves in an intruiging web of mysteries as many strange things start happening. This book is wonderful.

Rating: Summary: this is just great Review: Hah, hah, hah! BONE will surely have you laughing out loud. Jeff Smith has managed to conjure a bunch of great characters, all with their different pros and cons, and thrown them all into a wonderful world of childish fantasy. The three Bone cousins, Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone, have been run out of Boneville (due to Phoney Bone's many scrupelous schemes) and, much to their dislike, soon finds themselves in a battle against The Lord Of The Locusts, who is threatening to take over a peaceloving community in a quiet and peaceful valley. Moments of Laugh. Moments of Suspense. Moments of Joy. Moments of drama. And many, many, many moments of sheer magic.
Rating: Summary: Warner Brothers meets Lord of the Rings Review: I can't say enough good things about the Bone series. Jef Smith combines humor, drama, a solid grasp of character, a marvelous sense of pacing, and simple yet beautiful art to create one of the best stories I've ever read. This book is a great introduction to the story -- and I will be hugely surprised if by the end you're not saying, "Stupid, stupid rat creatures!"
Rating: Summary: It was awesome!!!! Review: I checked this book out of the local library for the heck of it, and started to read it. I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!!!! When i finished it i read it again, it was that good.
Rating: Summary: This is a mystic mystery comic ride Review: I first got enamored of this series when it was first published in Italy,in 1996. Fonebone, sweet, wise, innocent and hopelessly in love. You can have no hope, but you just can't help but love, love, love, till the end of the Universe itself! Phoney Bone, moral reverse of Fonebone. A trickster, a cheater, a clever manipulator of the masses, but he is betrayed by his own toomfolery. Smiley Bone, ambiguous accomplice of Phoney, ingenuous comrade of Fonebone. He is The Fool of mythology, innocent and whitout logic. They get involved in the basic fantasy story, right from the Lord of The Rings: the Dark Power arose again, the last feeble remnants of the good party must fight against all odds...and so on. But that's not so obvious! Those ghastly rat creatures are also hysterically stupid. The horrific, the comic and the poetic are mixed in an exquisite, unprecedented blend. Bone shall be a classic of comic art.
Rating: Summary: Very Good and Very Funny Review: i just got this book and i am very happy once again that i did. i am planning on getting the others in the series asap. it is a great series that is a little different but very good.
Rating: Summary: Destined to be a classic Review: I just want to add my "thumbs up" to all the reviews here. If you haven't read this series, here's where to start. With similarities to "Cerebus" and "Pogo", "Bone" has heart and soul all its own.The lead character, "Fone Bone" exhibits the full range of human emotions. He gets frightened at times, but keeps on going; he gets infatuated, he is loyal, he is ironic...what I am trying to say is that he brings concrete reality to his cartoon body. The stories are clever page-turners, filled with action, tension and wonderful humor. I can't imagine this going out of print, but in the comics industry you never know, so I recommend buying "Out from Boneville". I betcha can't read just this one...
