Summary: Gut-splitting sick, perverse, WONDERFUL humor!
Review: I was already familiar with Red Meat through another Web-site, but had never found a collection in book form until recently. I have not laughed this hard since the first time that I read Dave Barry's Bad Habits. My copy actually has tear-stains in it from my uncontrollable laughter. It's David Lynch on gallons of cough syrup and loads of booze, and brilliantly--if pathologically--hilarious. And after you read this book, stare blankly into space and ask out loud, "Is it still there?"

Summary: Essential
Review: If you have any appreciation whatsoever for morbid humor, buy this man's books immediately. There's really nothing else to it.

Summary: The ultimate comic strip for the sick at heart.
Review: If you like dark, sick, deadpan humor, go no further. There is nothing like Red Meat, with a cast of characters ranging from Ted the twisted 50's father to Milkman Dan, the Dairy Council's answer to the Marquis de Sade. For a preview, check out http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat

Summary: Great book...
Review: Just as wierd as The Far Side but with a nice dark twist. Milkman Dan's evilness is hilarious.

Summary: A Breed Apart (Moo)
Review: Like Gary Larson and Tom Tomorrow, people either "get" Max Cannon or they don't. If you "get" him, this collection is invaluable. If not, maybe there's a Mallard Filmore collection out there somewhere. The Family Circus is always good, too. For an anti-Family Circus, non-politically correct good time, Red Meat is a great read. Is it political? Everything's political. This is just a little something from the smartass anarchist lobby. :)

Summary: Bombastic Bits of Black Bliss
Review: Max Cannon is a Genious! There need to be more psychotic peopleout there willing to share their mementos of merriment with the restof us who get sick of being surrounded by Wheel of Fortune FREAKS. Max is my only solice other than Family Ties and Coz Kids. I love the comics and travel to a different country once a week just to pick up the local paper and shiver with joy at seeing a robot with rusty mechanical buttocks refuse to lift boxes. My only suggestion is to make more comics with this beautiful machine because the ones you have are gold. You should be proud. END

Summary: Humor has evolved to a new level! Max is an original!
Review: Max Cannon is a man before his own time, so to speak. He takes humor to a new, more realistically intellectual level. He nails the dregs of society on the proverbial head, and causes us to look humorously (and synically) at the world around us with out having to feel the need to destroy it (allowing it to destroy itself). This is the original material, and a must read for those misanthropes amongst us who enjoy this sort of thing. Hey...got milk (Milk Man Dan inference)?

Summary: morbid yet fascinating.
Review: Max Cannon is master of his art. Being an artist myself, I appreciate his skill. The humor he uses will not appeal to all audiences, but is good for those days when everything just seems too real, and an escape from reality would do some good. Much of the gags are morbid and rather twisted, but appeal to the dark somthing that lurks deep in the soul. Cynical and sadistic, it really pulls the heartstrings of humanity's dark side.;)

Summary: demented, disturbing, chock full o' laughs
Review: Max Cannon is well....twisted. "A Collection of Red Meat Cartooons" just proves that this fellow strolls on the side of abnormality. Although his cartoons are grim and demented, I found myself laughing out loud throughout the read. If you also have some kind of odd chemical imbalance you will love this book
