Summary: The end of the Great Jedi - Sith Wars?
Review: Redemption takes place 10 years after the Sith War, or on my Time Line, 3986 before NH. It is a TPB Comic collecting the issues 1 through 5 of STAR WARS: TALES OF THE JEDI REDEMPTION.

It is the continuing story of Ulic Qel-droma including Nomi Sunrider. Exar kun has been destroyed and Ulic stripped of his powers. This is his story of redemption, and his journey back to from the dark side. This is also supposed to be a story that is in the holocrons discovered 4000 years later.

We are still in the old republic Era but this comic released in July, 2001 presents Art and coloring that are a stunning improvement. Dark horse is on it way to arriving at the products that they finally start releasing in 2002.

On the SW timeline this is the first time we get to see the future of art, drawing and coloring that dark horse will be putting out in the future and it is spin chillingly great! Made in singapore, the binding is good and can stand the stess of someone actually opening the beook and reading it. After Dark Horse moves manufacture to China, the binding takes a sharp decline. Any attempt to actually open and read the comic can result in it falling apart in your hands.

This is written by Kevin j Anderson, so the continuity and foreshadowing are all here for those who are actively reading the SW offering of comic and Novels. I know Kevin gets his knocks, but I am a fan. He is one of the two authors I'd love to meet and talk to. Kevin, I hope you are alive and well! I also still argue that his JEDI ACADEMY trilogy is extremely important to the expanded universe.

The story at times appears to be a splice job, but that is not uncommon with dark horse. The cover is one of the worst ever produced, so turn the cover page out of site and enjoy.

Summary: My Mistake
Review: The cliché about not judging a book by its cover is appropriate with this graphic novel. These offerings by Darkhorse historically have ranged from excellent to not worth a fan's time or money. I had seen this work several times and between the weak cover art, and random page flipping that showed pages of graphics with zero dialogue, I repeatedly passed.

This is not the best work that Kevin J. Anderson has added to the Star Wars Saga, however his contribution combined with what are, at times, excellent illustrations make this apparent end to The Sith War series worthwhile. The book does try to splice at least 5 storylines together in a very brief space which is one of two weaknesses which includes an ending that is a bit to maudlin in general, and fairly absurd is specifics.

If you have read the other books in The Sith Series, this is worth your time. If you have not read any of the books, you might want to do so, they provide as much information on the Sith as you will find offered in written form.

Summary: Best Star Wars Trade Paperback I've Ever Read!
Review: This is, by far, the best trade paperback for the Star Wars series that I have ever read!
The story is set 10 years after the end of the Sith Wars. A distraught Ulic Qel-Droma wants to forget - forget his disastrous past, forget his fall to the Dark Side, forget the atrocities he committed as a Dark Side minion, and forget having been stripped of his Force powers by the woman he once loved. He almost succeeds, travelling to a far corner of the universe and begins a life spent in isolation. Then, along comes Vima Sunrider, daughter of the woman who stripped Ulic of his powers. She seeks Ulic out and implores him to train her as a Jedi. At first, Ulic refuses, but little-by-little, Ulic relents and begins his long path toward redemption. Little does he know that Vima is being searched for by former rivals who will stop at nothing to avenge loves lost.
Kevin J. Anderson is a gifted storyteller. It doesn't hurt to have fabulous artwork to accompany the story. Even the cover art at the end of the trade paperback is really quite amazing. A terrific tale of a fallen son's redemption with a few twists along the way. Well worth checking out!!

Summary: Deja Vu
Review: This short comic collection details the repentance and redemption of Ulic Qel-Droma (Where have we seen a dark Jedi return to the Light side before?). Wandering the galaxy while trying to hide from his past, Ulic ends up becoming the teacher for Vima Sunrider, Nomi's daughter. While blind to the Force, Ulic trains Vima as best he can while Nomi and others track him down. In the end, Ulic must prove that he has the heart of a Jedi and teach others not to live in the past or to hate. The artwork is well done in this comic. I like how Ulic looks, especially. While it is very short, it gives Ulic fans reason to be happy as we see that he has overcome his past troubles. Also recommended: Dark Forces Graphic Novels, Tales of the Jedi: Knights of the Old Republic, Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith, Tales of the Jedi: The Sith War

Summary: Kevin Anderson WROTE a good story? Judgement day is here...
Review: This takes place some 10 years after The Sith War. All the characters have changed, grown old, morphed (the tiger female looks way cooler) and grown up. Nomi Sunrider's daughter is a teenager now and wants to learn to be a Jedi. Ulic Qel-Droma is hiding on some ice world and wants to die. She seeks him out to learn the ways of the Jedi. The reason I took away a star was because how she found him. Some random guy (who looks exactly like the guys at the start of the original Star Wars) took Ulic to the snow planet and she just randomly picks a ship to stall on and guess who's ship it is? 10 billion people in the universe and she picks the guy who saw Ulic a day earlier. Wow, ironic, eh? There really is no bad guy in this story, it just shows Ulic teaching the girl. The closest thing to a bad guy has to be the good Jedi tiger girl, Silvar. Anyhoo its a good book to end the series with.
