Summary: In a lonely place...
Review: "IN THE CITY, WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO HOVER, AND DEVILS COME TO CROON, THE SEX OF THE NIGHT LETS DOWN HER BLACK NARCOTIC HAIR UNDER A YELLOW OPIUM MOON."

The Crow is a story about pain, despair, and revenge. It's about a man who has lost his life and love. He comes back from the dead to kill the people who murdered him and fiance one by one.

I believe everyone feels a bit like Eric Draven does at some point. Agonizingly hurt inside in one way or another. Insane with loss and rage for what has been done. Read this book. With or without that hollow space inside, you will love it. A little graphic on spots, but with good cause.

Summary: Victims aren't we all
Review: The Crow brings us into a world created by ourselves. Beautifully illustrated and written, this book makes you want to smile but then cry. It is truely the best book, I own. I would tell anyone to read this. And I have. For Real love lasts forever.

Summary: A beautiful and intense tale of pain and revenge
Review: The Crow is one of the most intense tales of pain and retribution I have ever read. The graphics are so life-like and filled with feeling that with the writing it brings tears to your eyes.Hard to find stories this good and it's definately worth reading.

Summary: This is the best book I've read of any kind.
Review: This book has the best story and that no other author could express the pain that the character is going through like O'Barr. I first saw the movie and I read the book later and the book is a lot better, even though the movie was very good with Brandon's performance. I would recommend this books to anybody who likes dark fantasty or a dark, gothic, romantic book.

Summary: The book everyone should own....
Review:

James O'Barr went through so much despair and sorrow during the writing of this book. And to think that something so beautiful and tear-jerking could come from his pain adds a more realness to it.

I've read this book about 4 times through and each time I read it, I fall more in love with it. The imagery the words create, the harsh- edged strokes from the pictures themselves, and the meaning behind the story, are what makes"The Crow" so magnificant

Summary: The story the movie could not describe.
Review: I enjoyed the movie "the Crow", but, I do not think it did justice to the beautifully painful story that James O'Barr has written. The story gives the reader the background that is most times found lacking in a script. O'Barr writes to create an environment of which the reader becomes a part. I could feel the love, the pain, the sorrow and the anger leaping from the pages. A writer should be able to bring laughter as well as tears to the reader and O'Barr has done that most definitely. I recommend to anyone who has seen the movie to read the book to experience the true story and a writing style that has all but disappeared. I gave this book a 10 because not only was the story line incredible; the pictures enhanced the full meaning with a great force without taking anything away from the story

Summary: 'The Crow' the way it was really meant to be told!
Review: The original story by O'Barr of Eric Draven is in its top form in the comic book 'The Crow'. In my opinion the book is far better than the movie (although I give high reguards to the actors) which completely butchered O'Barr's touching and graphic story of Love and Vengence. Most people don't realize that, to an extent, this was a story of O'Barr. The actions portrayed his feelings and the artwork portrayed his thoughts. I would highly recommend this comic book to everyone who likes to experience a story as they read it. I would have given it a 10 if it had been in colour but otherwise, the story itself cannot be measured on such a scale

Summary: Art
Review: I have been a fan of "The Crow" for years and believe it to be one of the greatest graphics novels ever inked. The pain reflected in the story line is monumentous. It took a man on the edge of sanity to write something this. I feel that J. O'Barr has written something here that may never have an equel in its field.

Summary: The quintessential revenge story
Review: The "Revenge" story has been told many times, from many perspectives, and with varying success. Most have been less than enjoyable, with bad plots and characterizations. Some have been masterful, such as (in my opinion) Kill Bill and Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo.

James O'barr's The Crow, however, is easily the best "revenge" story I have ever had the privilege to read. Eric feels like a real person, not some bland characterization. You feel how much he loves Shelly, and you see his innate goodness. You even can't help but understand his rage during his highly ethically questionable killing spree.

O'barr weaves a vivid, powerful story here of love lost and rage unquenched as he follows Eric, a man who returns from the dead to avenge his and his lover's gruesome murders. During the whole ordeal, there are glimpses of Eric's true humanity and kindness, and one gets the sense that he must purposefully sublimate this side of himself in order for his soul to gain peace.

This tale is a gritty masterpiece, and easily one of the best graphic novels ever produced. I heartily recommend it to anyone who enjoys comic books, and if you feel that comics are low-brow, I encourage you to take a look at this.

You might just change your mind.

Summary: THE GREATEST GRAPHIC NOVEL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: "The Crow" is a lot different from the movie that made Brandon Lee a legend. The title refers to the main character, Eric, when after he died he saw a crow that told him to "not look," which becomes his persona when he comes back. However, Eric/the Crow is the most realistic comic character to us all who were torn away from/or rejected by those we love. The art is very remonescent of the late Will Eisner, the "god" of comics. "The Crow" is definately a comic book classic.
