Rating: Summary: One of the best shoujo manga EVAH Review: Cardcaptor Sakura is truly the staple of shoujo manga. Within the 'maho shoujo' or 'magical girl' genre of shoujo manga (girls comics), Cardcaptor Sakura is the story of a young girl named Kinomoto Sakura who unwittingly releases the Clow cards. It becomes her job to capture them to prevent disaster from befalling the world. Sakura-chan is smart, although she can be a little dense at times, she is a wonderful heroine. With her best friend, Tomoyo providing cute battle outfits, and the guardian beast of the seal, Kero helping her along the way, Sakura-chan might just be able to capture all the Clow Cards.
This series is beautifully written and illustrated by CLAMP, a popular manga group. Their artwork is beautiful and flowing. Once you've seen it, you'll want all of their manga because the artwork is just so beautiful.
Rating: Summary: Cardcaptor Sakura Rules! Review: This is my favourite anime. And after reading the last six manga in this series, i waited for Tokyopop to re-release the first six because i knew they would do it justice. i was very happy with the translation in the Master of the Clow series and i am happy they decided to re-do the original! Cardcaptor Sakura is Awesome! ^_^
Rating: Summary: Cardcaptor Sakura RULES!!!!!! Review: This is the first volume of the Cardcaptor Sakura series. I won't bother explaining what the main plot is about, if you want to know that, read the description of the book! This book has (not in this order) the Jump Card, the Fly Card, the Watery Card, and the Illusion Card. This book explains a LITTLE bit about how Sakura came to be a cardcaptor. This book has all the beginning caracters, such as: Yukito, Toya, Kero, and Tomoyo. Li isn't in this book! BOO HOO!!!!!! I love Li, he's the coolest!!!! But enough about that. He he he. Anyway, this book is a pretty start to the series.
Rating: Summary: My favorite CLAMP title so far! Review: This series is absolutely wonderful. It's about Sakura, a 10-year-old girl who finds a magic book inside her father's library. Inside the book is a set of magic cards, which escape and cause trouble all over the city. So, she sets out to find and capture all the cards, with the help of a magical beast named Kero.
This is a series by CLAMP (for those who don't know, they're a very popular comic-making team from Japan) , so of course the artwork is beautiful, and the story is sweet without getting too sugary. It's mostly meant for girls, but some boys might like the card-capturing action scenes.
And it's an "all-ages" book, so it's good for everyone to read!
Rating: Summary: Best Deal w/ Extra Goodies Review: Tokyopop has truly gone above and beyond manga expectation!!! Cardcaptor Sakura was first licensed by them and done the 'western' way as in reading from right-left. In order to do this, all of the pages had to be flipped and then edited with English. A lot of manga/anime fans did not like this concept and it was Tokyopop who took the initiative to do the traditional Japanese way of left-right, calling it "100% Authentic Manga"!After publishing all of Cardcaptor Sakura mangas, they have decided to release the first 6 mangas that were flopped right-left back into the traditional left-right! This is the first boxset of Cardcaptor Sakura containing the first 3 mangas. Included as a bonus are bookmarks that portrayed the characters on clowcards! If you do the the math, of $15 cdn multiplied by 3 it equals to $45 cdn and this does not include the bookmarks nor the traditional left-right format! A great buy that you will not regret! This series is very cute and will not leave you disappointed if you enjoy cute costume outfits by the talented Tomoyo and easy to get hook on story.
Rating: Summary: Best Deal w/ Extra Goodies Review: Tokyopop has truly gone above and beyond manga expectation!!! Cardcaptor Sakura was first licensed by them and done the 'western' way as in reading from left-to-right. In order to do this, all of the pages had to be flipped and then edited with English. A lot of manga/anime/otaku fans did not like this concept and it was Tokyopop who took the initiative to do the traditional Japanese way of right-to-left, calling it "100% Authentic Manga"! After publishing all of Cardcaptor Sakura mangas, they have decided to release the first 6 mangas that were flopped left-to-right back into the traditional right-to-left! This is the first boxset of Cardcaptor Sakura containing the first 3 mangas/graphic novels. Included as a bonus are bookmarks that portrayed the characters on clowcards! If you do the the math, of $15 cdn multiplied by 3 it equals to $$$ cdn and this does not include the bookmarks nor the traditional left-right format! Tokyopop is definitely improving the quality of their graphic novels to look similar to the Japanese mangas. Similar to the Wish graphic novels they released, the first and last page of these graphic novel has a double-sided colour page on thick semi-gloss paper. While the rest is the good quality recycled newspaper. This is great because we get to see COLOUR aside from the front cover. =P For all you hard-core otakus out there (including myself), they have re-written these graphic novels. Going by their original Japanese names and sticking with their culture of respecting others. At the end of each name, Japanese would address a person by Name-san or Name-chan. Very cute as Sakura-chan refers to Tomoyo (aka Madison from CC dubbed) as Tomoyo-chan. ^_^ The graphic novels are enclosed in a box/book-shelf. Unlike the Magic Knight Rayearth Boxset, Tokyopop has invested a lot more quality into the box/book-shelf. I was surprise to find it very sturdy and glossy! ^v^ This will definitely keep these graphic novels safe away from danger. =P A great buy that you will not regret! This series is very a cute-addicticting series that will not leave you disappointed. If you enjoy cute costume outfits by the talented Tomoyo-chan, and an easy to get hook on story, you'll be obsess with this adorable manga like the rest of shoujo and cosplayers everywhere. =^-^=
Rating: Summary: Tokoyopops most intellegent move w/ CCS Review: Wow. Unfortunately, book stores near me do not sell this line of Cardcaptor Sakura (they have Master of the Clow, but not this Pre-Clow series), so I was ver excited to order this, none-the-less in a very orginized box set. When I recieved it, I was very pleased. The Books are acurate (100% Authentic Manga) and the book is fun to read. The end of the third book, unfourtunately, leaves you hanging till the 4th (in the second boxed set). The cards that are contained in the book are:
Book 1:Fly, Water and Illousion (a lot of 2 parterz)
Book 2:Flower, Sword, Shadow
Book 3: Mirror Shield and 1/2 of the maze
Over all I give it an A+! It's awsome, i will definately be purchasing the second box set in the near future!
