Summary: Excellent!
Review: This book is SWEET. I read it once, and was so blown away I had to read it again. The plot is solid and does a great job of explaining some things while leaving other things rather ambiguous. The art is excellent- much better than a lot of the art out there right now. EXCELLENT.

Summary: Best of 2000!
Review: I just finished reading this novel and I must say it was an experience. Origin takes all expectations and tosses them out and instead gives us a remarkably touching and tightly woven drama. Exceptionally well written, unparalelled artwork, and more mystery than you can shake a stick at, this book has it all. I cannot recommend buying this enough, this is far and away my favourite graphic novel of the millenium. Cheers all around to the creators for this work, as is stated on the back cover "proof that comic books can be literature" how true.

Summary: As good as it gets
Review: There aren't enough words to describe how great this book is, this is a reading requirement for all comic book fans or fans of graphic art. A true masterpiece of storytelling, probably the best book to come out of Marvel in years. The story is so subtly perfect in the way it reveals what created the hero know as Wolverine you have to reread it just to take it all in. You MUST own this to be considered a comic book fan. Outstanding work!

Summary: HOW CAN THIS BE SO BAD? 2 STARS, FOR ART.
Review: This collects Wolverine Origin 1-6. The art is great. The story, while revealing personal things about Wolverine (his real name, who his parents are, etc.), is crap. This story was obviously written by people who don't know what the character wolverine is like. Let me show you. Go read Hulk 181. Then go read WeaponX (AOA) #4. Read Uncanny Xmen 142. Now read Origin. Do you think that the lame-ass kid in Origin is the same guy as in the other books? No, he's not. What the kid is, is about two million dollars net profit for guys that got degrees in marketing and work for Marvel Inc...

And all of you quick-to-laud reviewers are letting them think that what they did was o.k. You know why they never told Wolverine's origin before? Because nothing can be good enough. Remember how cool Morpheus is before Matrix 2? That's called character development. You take away the mystery and are left with less than your expectations. Every time.

Read Barry Windsor Smith's Weapon X TPB, read the Fatal Attractions TPB, read Marmaduke comics if that's what it takes, but don't read this. It is trash. "Comic book literature"?? I think some reviewers are too anxious to get another "Dark Knight Returns" story so that they can be first to give it the thumbs up. Either way, no one who actually read this and has ANY familiarity with Wolverine could ever call this "Marvel Delivers!" or whatever the hell it is they're trying to put up here.

Summary: Should have been called the Anti-climax.
Review: One of the most speculated secrets in Marvel comic's pantheon, the origin of Wolverine, is finally revealed.
Was not worth the wait? No. Maybe there was a reason it was a secret, or maybe another author may have done better. The art was ok, but predictable and an ordinary comic style.

Summary: Better than I imagined...
Review: First of all, I am not a comic buff, let alone a Wolverine fanatic. But after watching the movie and reading up a little on the character, I was curious as to where 'Logan' originated from.
The fantastic thing about this series is that it gives you some insight into the origins of Wolverine without giving too much away, thus leaving his mysterious reputation intact. This historic gothic drama is told from the perspective of Rose, a sweet little Irish girl, who upon being orphaned is sent to the tragic Howlett estate to care for James Howlett, a sickly boy. Mystery surrounds the estate, with James' mother remaining in seclusion for an unknown reason, and the death of James' eldest brother. Whilst on the estate, she meets the son of an alcoholic groundskeeper, called Dawg, who bears a strange resemblance to our Wolverine. It is the tragic story of their lives, with romance, action and mystery all thrown in.
The storyline was well thought, intriguing and had many twists and turns throughout to keep the reader on edge. It answers questions such as where the name 'Logan' came from, his beginnings in Canada and why Wolverine has a fascination with redheads. However it also raises new questions and the possibility for a sequel. The art in this book is fantastic, with the characters displaying lots of expression and good use of colour to set moods. The accompanying bonus materials that come with the hardcover illustrate the effort that the writers put into the story. Also included is an alternate storyline that the authors were originally planning to release as 'Origin'.
Being a girl, I was very impressed with the effort that the authors put into the series, and I am sure that it will satisfy all fans.

Summary: Glad I bought it!!
Review: Could have used 6 or 7 more pages of proposed sketches from some other revisions to make it more special but this book is a good yarn if you are a Wolverine fan like me.

Summary: Beauty!
Review: Wolverine has always been my favorite superhero and so this story was anticipated in many ways, and while parts of the actual story could have played out a little differently the entire package is a can't miss. First off Wolverine has always been the quintissential mystery man, and so some people may not want to know his origin in fear that the knowledge will ruin his mystique, after reading this however readers will have even more unanswered questions about the clawed one. The art is groundbreaking with the use of digital painting over Andy Kubert's greatest work. The script by Paul Jenkins is heart wrenching, nobody else in the comic book medium can capture genuine human emotions as well as Jenkins can, nobody. This is a truly classic story, the kind of tale that stays with you. This isn't a superhero story, this is the origin of Logan the man, not Wolverine the super mutant, and it's one of the greatest comics I've ever read.

Review: THIS BOOK IS THE GREATEST GRAPHIC NOVEL I HAVE EVER READ BY MARVEL COMICS. FINALLY, A BOOK WHICH TELLS THE FULL STORY OF WOLVERINE. THOUGH I HAVE YET TO READ THE WHOLE BOOK, FROM WHAT I DID READ THIS BOOK WILL BE A #1 BEST SALER. BUY THIS BOOK IF YOU DON'T YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE THAT YOU NEVER OWNED IT.

Summary: amazing
Review: This is the best recent comic I have yet read. All 6 issues are spectacular featuring beautiful artwork and an awesome plotline that'll blow your mind. There are LOTS of surprises throughout and things come from nowhere and hit you with a huge emotional force. I didn't expect it to be quite so graphic but that compliments it well. You might be lost the first issue but all of it starts coming together. Issues 1-3 are the best. With 4 and 5 it kind of falls into an uneventful slump but it gets around it with a shocking ending. Excellent job all and all...
