Summary: The comic for those who don't read comics.
Review: This book appears to be just a comic, but it is really so much more! It could be the answer to, "What happens when Batman gets old?" or it could be a satire of human nature, or just a really dark, thought-provoking work that should be read by many and enjoyed by all. The story is about a group of faded former costumed vigilantes in 1985. With the shadow of nuclear war looming over them, they must- with the help of another mysterious and somewhat grotesque crimefighter called "Rorschach"- investigate the murder of one of their own. Add a blue radioactive superman who could save the world on a whim but doesn't feel like it, and you have a book that truly deserved the 1986 Hugo award. This book delves into moral questions, and shows that we wish for is not always what we want. Possibly the greatest comic miniseries ever to come out in multi-trade paperback form.

Summary: The best comic story to this date!
Review: If you have never read a comic in your life, you will STILL like this one. I gave it to one of my friends and he, never reading comics before, said that it was amazingly good. It surpassed all expectations that he had. This is a good BOOK period. Try it and you will not be disappointed. For those who read comics now or have in the past this is a must read because it will show you how comics have grown from there pulp beginnings into the complex art form that exists today.

Summary: Sheesh.
Review: Read on...below is an object lesson in the ridiculous pomposityof naive, overexcited comics geeks. Guys, just because you ran out ofsynonyms for "cool" and "awesome" doesn't mean you're qualified to judge Watchmen to be "possibly the best book of the 80's" (did you read any WITHOUT pictures?) or even "the best comic ever written" (whups the pants off the X-Men huh?) It's a great comic, and it ought to have been the LAST superhero story ever written but SETTLE DOWN, junior. you're spilling your Pixy Stix all over your PlayStation.

Summary: The Greatest Comic Book of all time !!!
Review: I never read any comic book as good as this one! It's rate better than other great comic books as lone wolf and the dark knight, but it is still better! I hope very much to see if a movie will be done of this book and I hope much more that this movie will be done with the same quality!

Summary: A truly remarkable piece of storytelling
Review: I had heard about "Watchmen" from people and comic magazines as being herald as one the greatest comics ever created. One day, at a comic book convention I happened upon the original Watchmen series and so I bought all twelve issues. All I have to say is that it is one helluva story, after reading the first issue I couldn't stop and ending up reading all twelve issues that same day. I always knew that Alan Moore was an excellent writer having read "Batman: The Killing Joke" but I never really realized what a great writer he was. This is one storyline that every comic fan should own no matter if you only like a certain writer, artist or character(s).

Summary: The Watchmen--WOW!
Review: Comic art at its highest elevation, and yet calling it a comic seems to trivialize it. A must for any comic devotee, thoroughly entertaining to any peripheral comic fan (like me) and of interest to just about anyone else--if you like great writing, great art, history, gothic literature or black humor, you'll find something here. A little on the violent side, but on the other hand, this is serious subject matter that can't be glossed over. Excellent character development--no one is all good or all bad, and that's what makes it real.

Summary: Watchmen: An Incredible Story
Review: Watchmen is the epitome of what the graphic novel can be. Kingdom Come is everything a comic book wants to be. Watchmen is so much more. It is one of the best stories you'll find anywhere. The depth, complexity, dialogue and art are superb. Moore creates an incredibly intricate universe of characters that are both likable and believable. The art is crisp and realistically drawn. Gibbons switches drawing styles seamlessly throughout the book. I've collected comics for the better part of 25 years and I've never seen anything better. If you love comics, you won't forgive yourself if you pass Watchmen by.

Summary: Quite possibly the best book of the 1980s
Review: Do not consider this book a mere comic book. To do that, would reduce this work in the minds of many people who do not read them regularly. For those of us who do, though, this work stands as the pinnacle of that art form. This book is Moore's crowning achievement in his field, and though you can see the same flashes of brilliance in his earlier works, Watchmen transcends all expectations superbly. An intricate script and some of the most fascinating detailed psychological character portrayals to be found in the realm of literature make this novel something to be savored and reread slowly

Summary: This is the best comic of the '80s.
Review: If you like comics, you're insane not to have read this before. Have you been living in the moon? If you don't like comics, because you think they're for kids or something, read this and call me in the morning. Literature (and I don't mean comics, I mean LITERATURE) doesn't get any better than this. A rich and intelligent plot, great dialogue, complex characters, drama, humor, thrills and suspense. An addictive story, created by Dave Gibbons, an immensely expressive illustrator, and the best comics writer of our time, Alan Moore. Do I need to ellaborate? READ IT NOW!!

Summary: Who Watches the Watchmen? Everyone should be!!
Review: Probably hands down the greatest novel of all time, Watchmen managed to do what few others, if no others, books have ever accomplished: combined intelligent storytelling with powerful artwork to make this a story truly for all the senses. Both beautifully complement each other, embellishing the story and taking the novel to another level entirely. I've read it about ten times and each time I still find myself moved, shocked, impressed and always coming away satisified. Truly a great novel
