Summary: Good but not Better than FUSHIGI YUGI!
Review: I read many reviews on Alice 19th about how it's even better than Fushigi Yugi, BUT OH NO IT'S NOT! It's quite good yes, but no where close to better. FY and Alice 19th are by the same author and both love stories, but FY is more. Alice 19th is a bit confusing at first but you have to just go with the flow and say "what the heck". The art work is cute though. Yu Watase as a special talent in making the characters really likable and realistic. That goes for Alice most of the time, but she can get a bit annoying with how many times she says "sis!". Ahhh makes me wanna slap her. Heh, but that's just another example of how real the characters are. I recommend this book for people who like romance and can handle not knowing what the in the heck is going on, it's a good buy.

Summary: really good series
Review: i think this is a very good series by yuu watase(like everything else she writes.) But what really suprises me is the art. You can see how much it changed; everything is so cleanly drawn. The lines are perfect and all in the right spot...everything is drawn verrrryyy nicely. It is, in my opinion, the manga that shows her best art so far. It truly is that good! haHA..the clothes are all very interesting...the girls are pretty and the guys are all handsome ~___~ XD...read it! now! it's got a very interesting story line. hehe.

Summary: My first taste of Yu Watase's work.
Review: I was looking on the internet and stumbled upon this book. It looked interesting, since I'd never read a book by Watase, and the name sounded interesting, so I ordered it. What I discovered was a beginning of something that could turn out to be completely worthwhile. I thought that I didn't waste my money on this, it was so good that I couldn't wait to get the next volume. If VIZ had an anime series of this, I'd be even more thrilled. Like me, if you stumble upon this comic whether it's recommended for you or not, get it. Trust me, it's worth the money.
The two heros of this series are Alice Seno {the main character;a lotis master; she has an older sister named Mayura, who is more popular than her; she keeps everything hidden inside herself and never lets anyone know how she really feels; she's also in love with Kyo Wakamiya} and Kyo Wakamiya { a guy who is popular at his school, which is the same school as Alice and Mayura; he's very dense; also a lotis master}.
Now you're probely wondering what a Lotis Master is. I'll just say this right now, it's not very common. There are 24 lotis words, and when you do a self-rightous act kind of thing {for example, Alice saves a bunny in the middle of the road, Alice would master the 19th word of the lotis, rangu, for courage}, you'd master one of the 24 words.
The series is about a girl named Alice Seno, who is always outshined by her older sister, Mayura. On her way home from being devestated by Mayura, Alice comes across a bunny that almost got her killed. But the bunny {Nyozeka} can actually transform into a human girl {with freaky mistakes like being able to float and having ears come out of her head}, and what's more, she can talk. Nyozeka is the one who tells Alice about the lotis, and also tells her that she's got to master them. Alice has only mastered Rangu so far. The Lotis Master's words that say, so when they say something that has an effect one the person, it really could happen. So guess what happens to Mayura when she is told by Alice to disappear.
Highly Recommended.

Summary: Viz gets it right
Review: I was really happy when I picked this book up to find out the translation was done so well. (also the appearance of fonts etc)I have this whole series in Japanese and I'm so glad to see that the American release does Yu Watase's work justice! Of her stories, this is my personal favorite series. Even though it is a lot shorter then her last two major series (7 volumes) it tells the story well. Each volume just keeps getting better!

Summary: Slow Starter
Review: I would definetly recomend this manga! It starts out kinda slow, but it won't let you down! By the last page you are completley wondering what happens next! It has jokes mixed, along with magic, love, and life lessons like courage(Rangu; if you read it already you know what I mean and are saying to yourself what a total loser!)Well if you are a shojo reader i would have to say this is a must read!!

Summary: A great series from an amazing manga artist/writer!
Review: I'm a huge fan of Yu Watase, her stories are amazing and her art work is beautiful and Alice 19th is no different. This is the first volume out of seven in the series and makes a great start to the series.
Alice Seno is a shy girl who can't say what she's thinking or even stand up for herself and is constantly outshined by her older sister, Mayura. Alice is in love with her sister's boyfriend Kyo and resents her sister, to a degree, for dating him. After an encounter with a bunny, who turns out to be a rabbit girl, she makes her sister disappear. Alice then realizes that she has the power to speak words and make things happen whether good or bad, hence making her sister disappear.
This is not a series that I would reccomend that anyone under the age of 13 should read unless they understand some of the adult situations. Parents if you are in doubt read it first then decide. Overall this book is great and the artwork is beautiful.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: I've read FY and a small bit of Ceres and I must say this manga reallys clings to me! It's so easy to relate to Alice and the way everything is set up is so perfect! It's not near as dark as Ceres and it's definately a good thing in my opinion. This is a great book that's not fluffy or too romantic! It's absolutely perfect and beautifully captivating!

Summary: way better!
Review: ok, now after reading ceres and FY, i liked watase.
now after reading alice, I LOVE HER.
the story a better improvement in her writing. IN the the way story plots are written, and characters are drawn out, she does a fantastic job.
not only is the story good the art is well done, as ussual.

Alice is a younger sister, living in the shadow of her older(more perfect as she is written) sister.
Alice wants a pet, a rabbit to be exact, but her sis is alergic.

to make a long story short, Alice finds a rabbit and gets to keep it. But it turns out it is a magical rabbit.

Not to give things away, but it has a lot to do with how people uses their words. And Alice, now has to control hers in order to become this lotis master. Words are power, a very true idealology.

if you dont have this manga, GET IT!!.
if u didnt like Watase's work before, YOU WILL LIKE THIS ONE!!!
i suggest getting off your butt and getting it :o)
