Summary: Nothing but a promo for X2 the movie.
Review: It reads in the cover that it is the updated edition but it actually cut bios about other mutants that came in the previous edition (the non updated) to include a "behind the scenes of the movie". I think the publishers should realize by now that the comic made the movie and not the other way, it's sad that they sacrifice valuable information to turn it into a promo.

Summary: Pretty good except.............
Review: It should have been less a book with pictures and the history as a comic book, and more like a soap opera scrapbook!Think of it, people. If you have read the All My Children, General Hospital, or The Young and the Restless scrapbooks, you'd see what I mean. It should cover all the years from 1963 to the time of it's publication, full of pictures, an entire cast list of characters and their exact years in the comics, sidebar info, and written paragraphs of each issue since #1 (1963) to whatever issue was last before publishing this book. (As I speak, it's up to Uncanny X-Men #395, August 2001.) After all, the comic books are like soap operas and vice versa! It should do an Uncanny X-Men scrapbook, then X-Men (now called New X-Men, stupid title), Wolverine, X-Force, X-Factor/Mutant X (even though it cancelled) Generation X (also cancelled) and others. If it had done that, I would have given this book 5 stars instead of 4.

Review: Many things lead up to the climax of the story. Overall I think the X-men story is very well written.

Review: Some of these stories were just great, and then some were awful or had no point. And, I'm sorry, but Ashley McConnell's Wolverine story was nothing but erotic fiction with the explicit stuff cut out. That doesn't seem like an X-Men story to me.

Review: There isn't a whole lot to say about this book. It's an 'encyclopedia' of the X-Men. It covers them and their history pretty well and also delves into some of the alternate X-Men. If you are an X-Fan, I'd definitely get this book, otherwise, go to something else.

Summary: Few Stand-Outs
Review: This anthology of stories featuring Marvel's mutant heroes, the X-Men, was a mixed bag of tales. I felt a number of the stories, while starting out well, fell flat in the final pay off pages; they seemed more like excuses to have a few interesting scenes. I'd recommend it only to the diehard X-Men fans. There are other better super-hero fiction anthologies out there.

Review: This book and the series gives good in depeth look at the X-Men and all its characters, friends, enemies, homes, and everything else. Anything you wanted to know of the X-Men. Hopefully they'll make more books like these.

Summary: This book about the X-Men falls short
Review: This book attempts to be informative, but contains too much information that is too diffuse to be of much use to either new or older fans. There are out-and-out mistakes (for example, Magneto is Jewish (as has been demonstrated in the comics as well as the movie) not a gypsy; i.e. the alias "Erik Lehnsherr" was the name of his false gypsy identity). There are serious omissions, such as the story of Illyana Rasputin or Magik -- reduced to a few sentences that hardly describe the history of this character. Also, the book tends to present bits and pieces of information about one character in the biography or notes about another; for example, the section on Charles Xavier doesn't mention his father, or step-brother Juggernaut, but if one reads the biography of Juggernaut, one finds some of the missing pieces from the Charles Xavier biography. If a reader is using this book as a reference, it is a clumsy and imprecise reference. On the other hand, there are flashy pictures and dynamic layouts to offset the confusing editorial organization and inaccuracies. Future X-Men books should strive for a more simple, straightforward approach that accurately presents each character's most basic history, as well as give readers the spectacular art and schematics and colorful trivia.

Summary: Ultimate X-Men!!
Review: This book definitley lives up to it's name as Ultimate. I wish this book would've been around when I first started collecting X-Men. It brings you up to date on characters, teams, villains, continuity, and more. If you're a fan or just starting to collect X-Men this book is a must have!! Great pics, and there's even original artwork created ecspecially for this book!!

Review: This book has tons of info on x-men. It tells about everything from the characters to the movie. I think it is a wonderful book and that it is perfect for all x-men fans. Believe me, this is an excellent book that every x-men fan should own.
