Summary: Shonen ai rocks!
Review: Gravitation rules! I've flicked through my best friend's volumes (see can translate and owns volumes 1-5). There are 11 volumes in total! GREAT!

Shuuichi is very similar to my best friend (which can be a little annoying).

Anyway, there are lyrics spread throughout the book making the translation cofusing, but it's worth being able to understand what's said.

Sorry if this wasn't useful.

Summary: Extremely entertaining and hilarious read.
Review: I bought this the other day, but just started reading it tonight and could not put it down. It is an extremely fun, hilarious, and entertaining read. I'm probably one of the few male fans of this series, but it really is a hoot! Shuichi Shindou is a very love-able 'artiste' ditz who just makes you want to cuddle up with a blanket and thank your stars for being alive... maybe I'm acting a bit overemotional, but it's all in good Gravitation fashion ;-) If you like comedy, and you like Shounen Ai, this is definitely a fun and wonderful read.

Summary: almost better than the anime
Review: i classify my anime into something i want to read and something i want to watch. never do i do both for a series, except for gravi. why? because it's great in both forms.
the manga version doesn't have to condense everything into a 13 episode anime, so the story seems more flushed out and questions get answered. if you were wondering where shuichi's parents were in the anime, they show up in the manga, and guess what, he has a sister. it's these characters and other events that were skipped in the anime that make the story still fresh, new and funny.
like the anime, gravi is in no way ground breaking and is utterly ridiculous, basically a fangirl's dream come true. and if that appeals to you, get the manga. shonen-ai is a good thing, it's better when it's hilarious.

Summary: Not to great
Review: I don't really think that a shounen-ai manga is... well, right. I mean when I first heard about it I had NO clue what it was about, but now that I know first hand, I'm sorry but I'm disgusted do NOT read if you get as disgusted with shounen OR shoujou ai as i do.

Summary: Be warned : ~This is not the Anime~
Review: I first fell in love with the gravitation series through the fansubbed anime. The characters were great, and the story was awesome (not to mention the music). When I found out that the manga was being translated, I was thrilled. However, the manga is very much NOT the anime.

When you read this manga, you have to keep a few things in mind. First of all, the characters in the Anime and the characters in the manga vary greatly. Sure, Shuichi is still spastic and cute, but his personality is very much different. Plus, the Anime left out a few characters the managa has, including Shuichi's sister. The characters use a very american vocabulary, though outdated, so you'll kinda have to pretend that the story takes place a few years back. One of my favorite things about the manga is the fact that sex isn't so taboo (as it was in the Anime). The characters interact in a very real enviroment, and are always throwing jokes around (the kind that actually make you laugh out loud). I think the manga is much more real than the anime ever was. If you're a huge fan of the Anime, you may not be too thrilled with the manga. If you want to enjoy this, you'll have to read it as a SEPERATE story, and not the anime in a book.

As a stand alone (no anime involved), this series is amazing. The characters are well developed, the humor is great, the story is believeable (and not your typical shounen-ai), but.. the art is a bit lacking. You'll really have to focus on the story and look past some of Maki's artistic errors (such as characters viewed from the side). I would definately reccomend this manga to anyone looking for a funny, romantic, real story. Of course, you've got to be cool with the boy x boy theme.

Summary: I love Gravitation!
Review: I first got into Gravitation by watching the series from downloads my friend gave me. It was the second anime I ever watched and I was in love with it from the beginning theme. You can imagine my delight when I found out that they were going to translate and release the manga here in the States'. Not to mention that I love Tokyopop. Anyways, the manga is wonderful and I love the read. The characters are great. I only have one little complaint. First of all, the anime really doesn't stay true to the manga. I had no idea that Shuichi has a sister. This goes along with the fact that the drawings aren't as great as the anime ones. Though still wonderfully drawn I think Murakami-san should have drawn them more closely together. Other then that I suggest this to any shounen-ai lover.

Summary: Man, am I dissapointed.
Review: I first got into Gravitation through fansubs of the anime, and I fell in love with the series. Soon, I had found a website with translations of the first six tankouban, so I bought them, and read them with the translations. I loved the manga even more. And when I heard that it was due to come out in an official english translation, I was VERY happy. Finally I'd be able to read all of them without the hassle of looking back and forth to my computer screen.

However, I have to say that this translation has completely let me down. The characters come across all wrong; since when has Yuki been a surfer bum? His dialect certainly seems to portray him that way. There are many little bits like this that just combined together to make reading this english version actually painful for me. Unless Tokyopop is able to get its stuff together for the second volume, I'm going to have to stick to fan translations, or wait until I've learned enough Japanese to translate it myself. I hope this won't be necessary.

Summary: One of the greatest mangas I have read yet
Review: I loved it. I absolutely could not put it down. Thankfully I am reading it during summer and i don't have to worry about school. It is about 2 guys who meet and have not a lot in common but are drawn to each other. I wont spoil it for anyone, you will just have to get it. It is the best!
