Rating: Summary: Bucky, a cat with an attitude!!!! Review: I found "Get Fuzzy" a few weeks ago by accident while looking for a reprint of another cartoon on the Internet. Since none of our local papers carry it I have it e-mailed every day. I think it's one of the best cartoons being drawn at the present time, especially if you're a pet owner. My wife and I have a seven-toed Siamese cat and a Yorkie. The cat we'd swear was Bucky's twin brother. He even lets us carry him around like Rob does on the cover of this book and with his huge front paws he looks just like Bucky, especially when he's upset about something. Bucky has it all over Garfield in regards to attitude. He's a street-wise smack talking wise guy. The great thing about this cartoon is that Conley really seems to portray what most pet owners really think their pets are saying to them, even though most of us might not admit it.If you love a good laugh and especially if you own pets this book is well worth it.
Rating: Summary: My favorite comicstrip... Review: Far form being another "single guy with a talking cat and dog" a la Garfield, this comic strip has much more depth. Conley has a sharp eye for the relationship of humans and cats and dogs and in addition his strips are full of minor details of topical subjects of culture, sports and news. The way he displayed his characters coping with the horrors of Sep 11 was one of the most moving of any comic strip and brought tears to my eyes. (it's not in this collection though, although I do hope it's in the upcoming next one).
Rating: Summary: Wow...great comic Review: It's amazing what "Get Fuzzy" does with its few characters and limited setting. It's not like other comic strips that feel they have to add new characters whenever they run out of material. "Get Fuzzy" always has something new, something to think about. The characterization is great. A lot of people say that Bucky and Satchel remind them of their pets....they remind me of people I know. It's also refreshing to have a comic strip that doesn't feel it has to be laugh-out-loud funny every day. "Get Fuzzy" touches something inside of you, and that's enough.
Rating: Summary: Can't wait for the next one. Review: Anyone who does not enjoy Get Fuzzy clearly is missing the point. There is a un unique air of sarcasm in almost every strip, perfectly coupled with Satchel's innocence and Bucky's demeaning, yet unintelligible comments. This is not Garfield and Odie - this is not a kid's strip at all. This is the best comic to come along since Calvin and Hobbes. Connely's artwork is very amusing. From Bucky's snaggle tooth to Satchel's broken watch - its easy enough laugh without even reading the dialog.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: This book is so funny. Every strip i would say that it was the best one yet. It is HILARIOUS!
Rating: Summary: Greatest book Review: The greatest cartoon book that there is! I have read it multiple times and it never gets old! I definitely suggest buying this book!
Rating: Summary: absolutely fabulous! Review: I can only repeat what has been said from the reviews above. get this book! Get fuzzy!
Rating: Summary: The Dog Is Not A Toy: House Rule #4 Review: We have four cats, sixteen paws and all of them have a bit of Bucky in 'em. We can't imagine that Darby doesn't have any animal companions because he's got it down to a T. This is an extraordinary work, the best thing that has happened since Bloom County! Keep them comin'!
Rating: Summary: household humanity gets its due Review: Anyone who read this strip in the papers will know why it deserves five stars. For those who don't agree--that is, to those who don't "get" the strip--I have two words. GET FUZZY!
Rating: Summary: Best gift I received Review: I received this incredible book for Christmas and have been VERY pleased. If you have missed Calvin and Hobbes' genius then Darby Conley is one to read. My thanks for an outstanding bit of humor. I can't wait until #2!
