Summary: No need for Ninja High School
Review: Taking place in an alternate version of Japan, Naruto is one of the most popular manga and anime series running today! In the ninja village of Konohagakure, young Uzumaki Naruto is training with the rest of his peers to graduate from the ninja academy and become full-fledged shinobi. With his impressive "Centerfold Attack" and "Doppleganger Ambush" techniques, Naruto has just barely made it through the training. He is revered by the rest of his clan because he is the reincarnation of a evil fox spirit that once ravaged the lands. Hoping to overcome this, Naruto sets out to be the next Hokage which is an elite brand of ninja. Being seperated into groups with the rest of his class, the other members of his finals team are made up of the school babe Sakura and the resident elitist Sasuke. They are paired to go against the upperclass shinobi Kakashi in order to pass. Pulling out all the stops, the three of them try their best in order to bring down the elite warrior. The Naruto manga is great with tons of intense action and pure hilarious comedy. Put it in your library now!

Summary: They really DID kill Naruto
Review: The Naruto manga is indeed a truly great manga series and also a great anime but they practically killed this series.. They really shouldn't have changed the names around.. its the names and the techniques that gives this series the true feeling for a great manga. Instead they really screwed up the names.. i didn't read the english manga but i followed the japanese one all the way to the updated volume. I must say this is truely one of my favorite animes but i really dislike what they did to the american version.. they should have atleast kept the name of the jutsus(spells).

Summary: The first instalment to an amazing series!
Review: This book is the first volume to the hit series Naruto that has currently spawned 20 volumes and has no end in sight. Surprassing just about any other manga, anime, or TV show in Japan the series is about a young ninja named Naruto. He is a prankseter and somewhat an oddball. But there is something special about naruto; he is sealing the legendary Nine Tails Fox Deamon inside of himself! Follow him on his path to be the Hokage!

The story may seem to be starting slowly, but you deffinatly won't regret buying this book!

Summary: Naruto rocks!!
Review: This is the best anime out there right now. #1 in japan. I have all 19 volumes of the manga in japanese. They are soo much cooler even though it's hard to read japanese if it's not your native language. By the way you can read all 197 chapters of naruto comics at narutochuushin.com which is a great site. If you haven't seen the anime version then you gotta go see it. It's way cooler. Just go to one of those anime dvd sites. This manga has everything. humor, adventure, love story, action, personality character development, etc.. It's mainly about ninjas in training and you get to see their process as they improve their skills and grow up.

Summary: Classic Manga
Review: This is the first book in the Naruto series. In this book, we are introduced to Naruto, a troublemaking teenager who wants one thing more than anything else: To become the best ninja in the world!

This is an amazing series. At first I avoided it, thinking that it would be to boyish for my tastes, but once I started reading I couldn't put it down. The jokes are great, the art is crisp and clear, and the characters are fun and unique.

If there is any downside to this manga, it is that the pacing can be a little uneasy at some times. There are points where it drags on, as well as points where the story goes a bit fast, but aside from that this is an excellent series that should be in everyones collection.

Artwork: 8/10 Story: 9/10 Characters: 9/10 Overall: 9/10 Trying to get a friend or family member interested in manga? This is a great book for martial arts fans. Some swearing, violence (though no exploding guts or the like) make this book for ages 13 or older.

Summary: poor translations
Review: This is the second manga I bought. I love naruto so I bought it even though I've downloaded all the fan translations already. I was dissappointed with this translation. ... And they should've left sensei in there. They keep the authenticity by printing it right to left and starting from the "back" instead so why not keep the names of the techniques? ...

Summary: The best anime series out there
Review: This one of the best, if not the best, anime series out. It is about a group of 12 year olds genins (beginner ninjas) in a Ninja Village who are trying to become chuunins (upper level ninjas).

This anime has excellent character development and is quite fun to read so that you can see how the characters will develop. The drawing is quite good and further helps the wonderful story. I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of anime or wants to start reading anime.

Although this is just newly released in the US it already has a strong and growing fan base on the internet that will only grow larger now that the anime is available to all.

Summary: The beginning of a Legacy
Review: Twelve years ago, there lived a powerful and fearsome fox spirit. This fox and its legendary nine tails caused devastation everywhere they went. But, when the fox traveled through the fire country, the shinobi of Konohagakure village (Village hidden among the fallen leaves) attacked Kyubi, the Devil fox. Together, with the help of the fourth hokage (fire shadow) they captured it and sealed it in newborn child. The fourth hokage died during the sealing, and the boy, Naruto, grew up with Kyubi sealed inside of him, unbeknownst to him. The third Hokage came out of retirement to rule. All of the people of the Konohagakure village shunned Naruto. He had no parents to love or love him back. He grew up alone, and twelve years later this manga starts.
This manga by Masashi Kishimoto has become extremely popular in Japan. Its unique art style lets you pick it out among all others, and unlike Dragonball and other fighting manga, this one plays out the battle with each kick, punch, and kunai thrown. This is a refreshingingly new way to present it.
Naruto is built around its memorable personalities. Naruto, Konohamaru, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Haku, Zabuza, Gaara of the sand, Temari, Kankuro, Orochimaru, Kabuto, Shikamaru, Chouji, Ino, Shino, Hinata, Jiraiya, Ebisu, Anko, Gai, Lee, Neji, Tenten, Princess Tsunade, and even Gama Bunta (toad boss) and his sons gamukichi and gamutachi. As each comes and goes, they are all remembered for what they did, and how they changed.
Naruto is a manga that has broken barriers, for the better. This has quickly become my favorite manga in Shonen Jump, and I'd recommend to any newcomer, and every seasoned veteran of manga.
As a last note, When and if the Naruto OST (song album) comes out, I would recommend it to anyone. The music is classic, and "Wind" by Akeboshi is a song that ranks way up there with "Tank" of Cowboy Bebop. Also when the Anime comes out, I recommend buying the subtitled version as long as it is not edited. No edited Anime is worth buying. It takes out the heart of manga, its realism. I've seen many screenshots of the Naruto anime and it looks awesome, so you should check it out. To make a note, I know many people are furious with Viz for butchering the translation. Yes, they did, but as the translation WAS approved by Masashi Kishimoto, I have no problem with it. For all those who want to read the actual names of techniques, you can go to narutoguide.com which includesoth the japanese and American names for the manga. Although it hasn't been updated in almost a year (wonder why?) It has every technique up to chapter one-twenty or so. So, if your bored reading "Art of the Doppeldanger", or the "Art of substitution", you can always head out there and enlighten yourself.
