Summary: good transalation of a great manga
Review: first of all this manga is great.ive already read up to vol 23 in jappaneese. anyway i decided to check out the transaltions for the us version and they (shonen jump)transalated it pretty good.except they did change the jutus names a little(kage bushin no jutsu now dopplegangers)but other than that they did an alright job.

Summary: Naruto is great
Review: First off, Doppleganger is a german word, and it's a monster that looks just like you do. It was thought that everyone had a Doppleganger. Personally, I think the transform skill should have been called this, and not kage bunshin no jutsu, which I believe should have been left as "shadow clone technique(or skill)."

But really, the manga isn't as good (in my opinion) as the anime series. Try to find someplace to download the fansubbed episodes of naruto (they aren't liscensed in america right now).

Summary: Naruto - a great manga ruined by poor translation
Review: First off, whoever said that the anime was better, is simply an idiot. The manga far outstripes the anime in every category.

Second of all, the attack should be called Kage Bunshin no Jutsu because that's what the author named it. Viz left original attack names in for Dragonball Z, so why not Naruto.

I say, don't waste you're money, download fanscans.

Summary: NAROUTO ROCKS SHONEN JUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I am the biggest fan of naruto!!!! i would also like to argue the statement that NICK gave, about the "dopple ganger" thing. Nick have you ever played Chrono Cross. If so, then you would know that dopple ganger means "the abilty to copy or change into another object." (at least from what i understand).
Therefore it is not a grammer error or mistraslation (from what i belive) that the move "kage bushin no jutsu" means the same as doppel ganger. i may be mistaken but after all, if it wrent translated then i would still be in japanese (is that where it comes from) anyway BUY EVERY NARUTO COMIC YOU CAN GET!!! ALSO look at onepiece and shaman king

Summary: Naruto!
Review: I have recently become a Naruto fan. We have been watching the subtitled anime for a month or two in my school's anime club, and I admit it, I'm hooked. Even though I have no time, I got through this first volume of manga in a couple of hours. It is even better the second time around!

The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the action is sometimes especially hard to follow in 'graphic novel' form. However, I like Naruto a lot better than other anime or manga I have seen or read because it generally has a coherent plot. People who have watched a lot of anime would probably know what I mean.

I would encourage all of those people who just download the comics off the internet to buy the books instead, so Viz and Shonen Jump will continue to sell them in the US.

It is too bad that there is not more Naruto merchandise and that the show has not been released in the US, but until then, I will continue to purchase these english versions of the manga.

Summary: Wouldn't you know? Naruto rocks
Review: I have to be honest. As a general rule, I don't like manga. I love anime but I generally hate manga. This one's different. Out of all the manga I read, this is the overall best. Oh, and don't listen to that other guy. The translations can be cool like Naruto's Doppleganger Technique when he creates 1,000 copies of himself and bashes Mizuki into pudding. The translations can also be hysterical like Earth Type Groundhog Decapitation (I won't reveal the joke. I'll leave it at telling you it's hysterical. All in all I would buy this because it's definately worth reading and I couldn't find it in a library. One more thing... I am not twelve, I just happen to lack an e-mail adress

Summary: Excellent - Surprising on many levels!
Review: I normally don't read shonen (boys) manga, because it just isn't my thing. BUT...after a friend loaned me this first volume, I couldn't get enough! There's a lot of character development and back story packed into this manga. The students grow and change, becoming more mature as the volumes progress.

There's a good mix of action scenes and plot movement, so I think it's safe to say that there's something for just about everyone in the Naruto manga (it even has a lot of female fans!). The battles are interesting in that your favorite character (or the one who seems most likely to win) may not win. The use of extreme force is often balanced by the fact that it's a severe drain on the user. The characters need to think quickly and choose which fighting form is appropriate to the given situation, rather than just rush in haphazardly.

But all that is, in my mind, secondary to the interesting characters present in the manga. Many of them have elaborate backstories which serve to bring this story to life.

The only downside is that one of the main females is rather...well...useless. But I have a feeling that will change as she learns and grows from the trials presented her.

I can't recommend this manga highly enough!

Summary: Good Book, translation frustrated.
Review: I've read the home translated comics and they are far better than these ones. The books are great but i really wished they had have used the same names for the techniques that they did in the japanese ones.

Summary: A Great Series!
Review: I've seen a lot of the anime, and have seen a lot of the manga. While the two do differ, I don't know what fool said they were identical :(, but it's nothing that hurts the story. For example, Kakashi's test is different in the manga than in the anime.
I will be honest with you, this is one of my favorite series. It may never come to the USA, but despite that it's still very popular here. It's an intelligent, funny, action filled series! In Japan it has a huge fan base- clothing lines, and a lot of video games. The story... a long time ago a fox demon was ravaging the town. A hero comes and seals the soul in infants body. Well, that boy grows up, and he is ninja trainee Naruto. I won't spoil anything else, except expect bad ass ninja killing scenes and the like. :) Buy it! If it gets popular enough maybe someone will liscence it!
