Summary: Best Example Of Japanese Fashion, In Comic Books You CanGet
Review: "Paridise Kiss" is deffinatly one of the best comic books I have so far picked up, plus it's as good as the first one. It's loaded full of the very famous Japanese fashion. (Lolita Fashion, Japanese Street Fashion, etc.) It is so different from the usual comic books..(Notice that the eyes of Ai Yazawa's comics are diffrent and more wide than normal comic book charecter's eyes. For example, Sailor Moon, and Marmalade Boy.) Still, comic book strives to be diffrent, resulting in how now, there is a whole new style called "Para-kiss." You must check this book out, and if you might want to find out what Lolita Fashion is, you should check out the pure Japanese, infamous books... Gothic & Lolita Bibles, 1 through 4. (I believe that's as far as it goes.) Also, Alice Doll comic have Lolita fashion in them, and so does the comic book "Cinderella" (no, not the classic!) and Cardcapture Sakura. You can also find out more about Lolita Fashion and Gothic Lolita fashion on my website [website]
-Enjoy!

Summary: Disappointed
Review: Compare to the first 4 volumes, vol. 5 is a letdown. Not so much b'cos of the ending, it seems the author was out of time, squeezing the story should have a couple more volumes into one volume. At times, it seems abrupt and a bit far-fetched, probably just haven't been given enough time to adjust to it.

The author sometimes have a bizzare way to put things together, there are parts in the last volume, I find it a bit strange for my taste, it could well possibly due to the translation (since I don't read Japanese). In short, it's a bit anti-climatic.

Summary: More Goodness
Review: I like this volume a little better than the first one, because we get to know the whole cast a little more and get some hints as to what drives the characters. Yukari does seem a bit weak in most of the volume, but she starts to pull herself together toward the end, trying to establish herself. I thought her weakness was actually well done and sets up her trying to carve a place for herself. All I know is I can't wait to get my grubby paws on volume 3. I haven't been this hungry for the next volume of a comic in ages!...

Summary: Pretty Good
Review: I liked the first one a little more, but this is a good follow-up all in all. If you're into the girl-changes-for-the-weirdo-boy story line, then this is good for you. But, personally I would have preferred Yukari being stronger on the whole. But, I guess you gotta love 'em. A good book for starting an Arashi fan club though, he's just so CUTE in this one. Well. Good Luck Caroline!

Summary: Surprise twist ending!
Review: I want to write a review without spoiling anything for someone who hasn't read it yet. Let's just say that this book has a happy ending, but not the ending you expected. Not the kind Disney would feed you. Let's just say Arashi has issues with Hiroyuki, George & Yukari are still questioning their relationship over their couriers,Everyone makes fun of George's committment issues like dating more than one person at a time, & Isabella runs away with someone he loves. Lots of gay jokes like in book one & many appearences by sexy Seiji. Ths book does a beautiful job of softly bouncing back & forth between humor & drama. It seems like I've told you a lot, but I haven't really told you anything.

Summary: Parakiss v02: Even better
Review: In Volume 1 of Paradise Kiss, you were just getting introduced to all the characters and the world of Yukari and the world of the Yaza Arts kids. And watching them come together was fun because you got to see all these great clothes and there was a lot of fun humor and fun and intriguing characters. In Volume 2 however, obviously, the story must move beyond that, or it would majorly suck. :p

Ai Yazawa does a very good job of moving the story onward and keeping you interested every step of the way. There is the fashion, but it seems a little less forward in this Volume. The story is pushed to the front more, and the characters even more so then in the last volume.

The main development in Volume 2 is the character of Yukari, she was a fairly flimsy character in Volume 1, flighty and indescisive. But now she is beginning to grow up, beginning to grow into a woman. With the help of her newfound love George. Okay, maybe that sounds cheesey, but ITS NOT!!! So that wasn't a perfect way to word it, but oh well, it will have to do.

In this Volume Yukari is faced with a dillema: 1. Continuing to lie to her parents about where she is all the time and helping George and them with the dress and blowing off school, or 2. Growing up and telling her parents the truth, even if it means she has to leave school and home and venture in to a territory that is new to her. That is the main focus in this volume. Also of course, her relationship with George is all mixed in with it too. But I am glad that Yazawa-san took the time to really develop her character more. Because quite frankly, the series wouldn't survive if she hadn't.

If, you love Volume 1, you will NO DOUBT love Volume 2, like me, it will leave you wanting more after you're done. :D
Unless you have something seriously wrong with you? Hmmmm

God Bless ~Amy

Summary: Para-kiss is totally awesome!!!
Review: The drwing style is a bit wierd, but possible to adjust to. And so worth doing so!
Yukari is one of those perfect kind of girls: Very studious, always obeying her parents wishes, never doing anything unexpected, wrong, or, well, anything except perfect. She doesn't have an easy time with it, though. When she runs into a punk and a transvestite on the street one day and is asked to modle clothing for them, she adamently refuses. At first. But then she meets George, the designer for Para-kiss, and she has to wonder if she should accept their invitation into this new, wonderful, and forbidden world.
